Hello good evening, I was wondering if someone can help me? I have a friend that is having hard time with the economy situation in his country, and it's killing me not being able to help him with his computer.
He has this specs:
GA-MA74GMT-s2 2.0 rev is a Gigabyte old motherboard paired with a Phenom II x2 B55, 8 gigs of ram, this has a onboard VGA integrated ati 2100 IGP
The Southbridge is SB700, and northbridge 740.
Thing Is I tried to download the south-northbridge installed it , but for some reason the device manager display reminds as (microsoft adapter) then I went to guru3d site old thread where they provided a file whose name is : ATI Catalyst 12.11 B11 HotFix 11.09 V6 BETA, and I had to go to device manager then hit display update the driver manually and finally it installed the 2100 ATI, this time (no error 43) thanks to the installation of the south-northbridge drivers, but then even without the code 43, windows still not detecting and using the igp driver, still no drivers, If I do dxdiag via windows it shows microsoft display device.
Then we tried to open old games like cs 1.6 that used to run 100fps in windows 7, here barely runs at 4fps.
At this point I feel miserable in not being able to help him, as his sole distraction to have fun is playing cs 1.6
he had to move to Windows 10 because of its job, with a software that work only in windows 10.
was wondering if I'm missing something if there is a hidden driver that I'm missing I tried like going to AMD drivers finding also individual 2100 at drivers in windows 8 setting compatibility mode, but still no luck
if someone has a solution I highly appreciate.
