Hello everyone,

Ive just installed my new RX 7900 XT and was trying it out on Hell let loose. The PC always crashes with a blackscreen and shutting down the PC a few minutes into the game. It only starts back up when i switch off and on the PSU and restart it. I have 2 separate 8-pin power connectors, just updated to the latest BIOS and also deinstalled all old GPU drivers via DDU and installed only the latest stable drivers without solving the problem. I also updated windows and checked the event manager with an Kernel problem ID 41 "The system has rebooted without cleanly shutting down first". 

I cant find any conclusive post anywhere that helps me.

I have a Sapphire Pulse RX 7900 XT, a  Ryzen 5800X, MSI B550 Gaming Edge WiFi Mboard,  32GB of G.Skill RAM, 750W bequiet PSU.

The system worked perfectly fine before with my RX 6700 XT so i suspect a driver issue.

If anyone has had the same issue and managed to solve it id be super happy if youd share your solution.

Just curious, remove the graphics card and use the integrated card for a while to see if that happens.

I wont be able to test it then. Ive disabled MPO now but it didnt help. Currently testing if reducing the max frequency in Adrenaline to Sapphires specifications works.

Okay so far it didnt crash in about an hours after i adjusted the max. frequency to Sapphires specification which was 2450Mhz. I also disabled SAM, i'll test it with SAM enabled the next few days. Hope i can help someone.

I suspect a power issue. A hard power off that requires a reset on the power supply to turn back on is a power supply protection shutoff, whether that's over current, over voltage, over power, etc. The fact it didn't do it with your previous 6700XT (a 230W card) but is now doing it with the 7900XT (a 300W card) and when you limit the card clock frequency (thus reduce power draw) the problem does not exhibit.

AMD recommends a minimum 750W power supply for the 7900XT. How old is your beQuiet PSU? What model is it? Is it Bronze, Gold, what? Is it plugged into wall power or a power strip? Are you able to test the 7900XT in another system with a more ample power supply?
