Linux ROCm and ROCr OpenCL drivers not working with folding@home

Hallo,

I am using the Ryzen 7 4750G Pro APU with Ubuntu Linux 20.04.3 LTS.

I have been folding with the machine using the folding@home client with CPU and GPU for some time now.

Unfortunately, the latest opencl drivers with ROCr and ROCm do not support folding with the GPU under Linux.

The only opencl driver which seems to work is version 20.40 from last year together with the old kernel 5.4.0-54.

Is there any suggestion how to get the newer driver to work as it seems that the old kernel is now causing hardware-error in the CPU?

Many thanks!

regards, Udo

Best to first go to ROCm Github and read about the latest drivers and so forth: https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/ROCm

Or open a thread at Github ROCm Forums from here : https://github.com/RadeonOpenCompute/ROCm/issues
