Hello, I have HP probook 4540s with Intel HD Graphics 3000 and Radeon HD 7500M/7600M Series, and in AMD drivers list I see a Catalyst Software Suite no. 15.7.1 WHQL and a Radeon Software Crimson Edition Beta no. 16.2.1 Beta for W7-64 bit (I suppose these are correct ones, because it's the same whether I look up HD 7690M XT or HD 7510M?). I think I have WHQL one installed, with CCC, when I check driver details in Device Manager it says Provider is AMD, Driver Version: 15.200.1062.1004 (in CCC it states Driver Packaging Version: 15.20.1062.1004-150803a1-319530C) had also tried Crimson Suite, don't remember why but switched back to CCC, but my questions are:
- is there a way to check if the driver is installed correctly/works?
- which one of the two should be used?
- should I use AMD drivers or a driver provided by HP which shows an older date (2012) - I have its setup file sitting in downloads folder for some years and never knew what to do with it, also not sure if it is/was ever installed - is it possible to check that?
- I'm not sure if I have problems related to GPUs or drivers, maybe only minor things - e.g. in Firefox version 83 some fonts became thinner and there was a suggestion to update graphics driver; on CCC I set games to run on High Performance - I now checked in-game stats, Minecraft says it's using Radeon, but another game - Intel HD (yet when I set it to Power Saving, FPS is noticeably lower so I suppose it might be using Radeon?), I also see only Intel HD in dxdiag Display tab, but both Intel and Radeon in GPU-Z, and in a graphics rules program to enable anti-aliasing in The Sims 2 there's only a choice of Intel HD, but anti-aliasing from CCC works (but most options I tried create black square areas around moving objects - so I turn it off and use the graphics rule program) - does it matter what is stated in the programs or can it be ignored? Is there a way in W7 to make sure a program is using Radeon - besides setting it on High Performance (later I used GPU-Z to check the temperature), or is setting it on enough to make sure it is using Radeon?
