I've checked for the drivers on the AMD website and`it's not clear. The closest I've come up with is the Catalyst 14.4 software suite, but there are two versions and no explanation for the different versions. And in the list of supported products for the 14.4 Catalyst, the 6550D series is listed, then the 6600 series. But no 6570 series in between.
Am I looking at the wrong download? Also, if possible I'd just like to find the minimum settings and driver files. The software suite seems awfully large for something so basic.
Here is how you find the correct driver...choose which XP version:
AMD dropped XP support in 2013.
That what I did already. And I get two choices with no explanation as to the differences. Here's that page: http://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%20XP%20-%20Professional/Home&RenderOnServer...
I'm looking for the 32 bit version. And I'd also like to download only the minimum necessary, but these two choices are 179mb and 195mb. So there's a lot more there than the driver(s) I need. How do I figure out which one to try?
I would choose the 179mb one > https://support.amd.com/en-us/download/desktop?os=Windows%20XP%20-%20Professional/Home&RenderOnServe...
Choose 'custom' install...and deselect any part of the driver package you do not want to install from the menu you will see.
Thanks for the information. Do you have any idea why there are two undefined choices?
Not a clue
