After Installing the new-ish version of the Adrenalin Drivers (24.8.1), yesterday, Things started to behave strangely in-game today, specifically in the form of brief (I'd say about half-second) contrast lowering/brightness raising of dark scenes in games that come sometimes as an isolated incident, and others in series of quicker flashes, looking like a transparent grey overlay was present across the area. This happens randomly without any seeming rhyme, or reason, however, after some experimentation, I found it happens 100% of the time when taking screenshots (F12) in steam, in addition to the cause-unknown instances.
Given the game I was trying it with yesterday (Warhammer 40,000 Darktide) caused my audio interface to start giving crackled audio both to gunshots in-game, as well as a POP before Discord message notification until I unplugged, and slotted the USB back into my Motherboard, I assumed it was a fault of my system, or the game, however it's now doing it in Yu-Gi-Oh Duel Links' side panels on the PC port as well, making me think it's a driver issue, or I otherwise broke something with the card.
I was not overclocking anything, as I never do, and was using the recommended graphical settings of "High" for the first game (the second has no graphics options by virtue of it being a mobile port), also going in to make sure no settings had changed either with Adrenalin itself, or MSI Gaming Intelligence (I have a 321URX if that helps anything), had been changed, with all colour, and darkness enhancing settings set to "off".
Of note is that this only happens when in-game, and lowering Darktide's graphics caused less fan noise from my system, alongside GPU utilisation (It was showing at 98% when looking at Adrenalin), but the issue wasn't fixed. YGO Duel Links was also only showing 22% utilisation, with some spikes to the 30s briefly in there.), but still had that odd brightening.
As well, this only happens in-game, with dark videos, screenshots, and desktop applications not showing any of this.
If this was an issue with the card, monitor, or cable (of which I've used the same ones, and all were working totally fine before today) then I'd assume it would be happening constantly for everything dark, but as no other changes were made save for the driver, and it's only doing this hen in-game, it's likely a driver issue, I feel.
Either way, if anybody knows what may be causing this issue, and/or how to fix it, all theories and replies are thanked for.
Update: Turning Adaptive Sync off fixed the issue, which was noted (after a full driver uninstall) to only occur at 240 Hertz Refresh rate. I still think this to be a bug with the driver, given one definitely wants VRR on, especially if your monitor is Freesync Premium Pro certified, but as it's a fix, and things are still usable with it off, I shall keep it off for now.
