I wanted to test how well the R9 Nano CF and the RX 480 CF scales compared to single card setup with different resolutions. The single dGPU configurations worked fine with great frame pacing.
However, mGPU setups seem to have all sort of issues.
- the frame pacing is rubbish
- at higher resolution (1080p with 1.8 and 2.0 resolution scale) the game tends to produce different artifacts from time to time - water polygon shading and house black volume
- at higher resolution (1080p with 1.8 and 2.0 resolution scale) the RX 480 x2 setup produces wonky frames next to frame borders; sometimes a shorter region is not updated and the older frame can be seen there
- at higher resolution (1080p with 1.8 and 2.0 resolution scale) the R9 Nano x2 setup blurs some frames very severely near to the camera - have a look at the tree area
Setup:
PSU: Cooler Master 1000W VANGUARD
MB: Gigabyte GA-AB350-Gaming 3
CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 1600 3.20GHz AM4
RAM: G.Skill FlareX F4-3200C14D-16GFX
Cooler: AMD Wraith Spire Cooler
Driver: Radeon Adrenalin 18.3.4 (17.50.33.05)
OS: Microsoft Windows 10 (10.0) Home 64-bit Version 1709
Nothing is OCed, everything is at stock (CPU, GPU).
Colored frame bars are overlayed with RTSS Rivatuner Statistics Server v7.0.2.
I have attached the log-info files from the systems. I also attached the frame time graphs of different runs.
Game settings: 1080p, Ultra, SMAA, Motion Blur on
Resolution Scale was set to 1.0, 1.2, 1.4, 1.6, 1.8, 2.0.
