Hello everyone, I am currently running an Alienware 18 (Laptop, 2014)
I have
X2 R9 M290X ( also known as HD 8900?)
Intel i7 4710mq
Windows 10 64 bit
32 Gigs of Ram
I have recently tried to install the latest graphics drivers, it installs half way and the screen goes black. I can still hear background noise. I have to reset my computer, goes into safemode, etc. Eventually I end up reformatting. I have done this about 5 times, the most recent one today.
I have looked online for solutions and have tried all of them. I even tried Gurus driver uninstall, no such luck. Windows does not automatically update the drivers for me when I ask it to do so. I've tried automatic driver install from AMD- even manually installing (I tired R9 2xx series, even HD 8900) no luck. Even when I attempt to install an older driver it says that my hardware can not be detected. Is it a legacy driver now? Can someone help?
Thank you very much! I will be building a new PC in a few months but I really want this laptop to work properly!
