Hello there, 7900 XTX user here, loving to play at 8K res on my 4K screen with the card, thanks to VSR.
Unfortunately, some games, even from 2010-2020 era are too demanding for that resolution.
I read on reddit that it was possible to combine VSR + RSR in the past , so that it was possible to play reconstructed 8K in games from " the past " where FSR is not here natively.
I'd like the feature to still be there, i'm waiting for it to play some of my games. It'd be a killer.
Can someone push this to the dev please?
Best regards.
Supply that reddit post.
Seems like you have not read the AMD Docs on both options?
For sure, here it is : Vsr+Rsr Hack Is No More? : r/radeon (reddit.com)
Too bad they don't mention the so-called hack (was it some 3rd party mod?).
(My bad, wrong subject, deleted.)
Maybe you would want to ask them directly for official response.
You generally won't get official answer on future implementations on this user forum.
Oh, you are misunderstanding. I am not talking about RSR + FSR, but VSR + RSR ( virtual super resolution aka supersampling + RSR , so that you get a reconstructed supersampling ). I'm gonna bump the topic and report it everyday with AMD tool . Thanks !
first u have to understand these technique .
RSR is scaling up technique for getting better quality from lower resolution to monitor native quality
VSR is scaling up technique for getting higher or supportable resolution without talking about graphic quality .
i don't think they are compatible . and further, VSR is too old/ out of date technique, i don't think ppl are using it now. RSR is better than VSR in term of boosting graphic quality in gaming , for an example.
u wouldn't feel it too bright and over-colorful (lost color) on VSR 8k on ur 4k monitor
VSR is actually supersampling and improves imahge quality, A LOT .
As a supersampling tech, It is not out of date and people use it.
You can't compare RSR to VSR, they don't have the same purpose, and it is actually possible to use reconstruction tech with Supersampling tech.
That's why i want AMD to re enable it . I can use Losless scaling software in the meantime, but that's not elegant and can lead to some issues, hence the need to be allowed at a driver level.
