Cant install Adrenaline - intended for AMD systems only

I have a Asus 5700XT and for some reason Adrenalin doesn't want to install anymore. I've downloaded the 24.1.1 combined install and when i double click, it expands out and starts then gets an error "This installer is intended to be deployed only on AMD system. Exiting installation as the requirement is not satisfied.

Im running Windows 11 and have tried removing the video card from device manager and uninstalling the driver but nothing helps.

Any ideas?

First try installing the latest RX 5700XT driver from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/amd-radeon-5700-series/amd-radeon-rx-5700-series/amd-radeon-...

If no difference then try installing a previous AMD driver in case the one you have has issues: https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/amd-radeon-5700-series/amd-radeon-rx-5700-s...

Use DDU each time.

NOTE: Might be you have a Registry corruption or leftover that is confusing the AMD Driver from installing.

If you get the same error for current and previous AMD driver installation try using MS Install/Uninstall Tool to install your AMD driver. see if that fixes your issue: Microsoft Install/Uninstall Tool

Note: Make sure your Windows is fully updated via Windows update and you have the latest Non-BETA BIOS version installed and AMD CHIPSET: https://www.amd.com/en/support/chipsets/amd-socket-am4/x570

hard to answer since no info on Make & Model of Motherboard and CPU installed.

Try using DDU (Display Driver Uninstaller) and deleting, if created, AMD installation folder C:\AMD. After DDU reboots try installing the AMD full package again.

It sounds like either you don't have a AMD Motherboard or you had a Non-AMD GPU card installed before.

ASUS Radeon RX5700XT Graphics Card

I've just tried using DDU and unfortunately didn't help. Any other ideas?

Thanks for your help! Installing an old version and then upgrading has worked. Don't know why I couldn't just install the new version but I've got it back up and working now. Thanks!

Probably had a corrupt AMD driver installation originally.

But great that you were finally able to update your driver.

Take care.
