Out of no where (as of a few days ago), Call of Duty Modern Warfare (CoD MW) shuts down from what I assume to be too high GPU utilization. I've been playing this game since it came out and have had zero issues with this graphics card. I have a Radeon RX 590 Series and the software version is 21.7.2 (i.e. up-to-date). According to AMD Radeon Software, my graphics card performance is marginal--which in my eyes means playable--however, I'm struggling to be able to play. I'd like to avoid spending $2,000 to upgrade my GPU and CPU. Is this what I'll have to do just to play? I felt like it would just marginally get worst over time not just give up--instantaneously.
Here is what I've tried to do to fix it:
- Update drivers
- Update any software related to AMD
- Update Windows
- Restart security software
I am confused how in 2 days all the sudden it's not performing well. Is this how things become obsolete? I had no idea it is this quick--let alone after 2 years of use.
Thanks for your time! Sorry for the slight vent sesh--was not prepared for this news. I look forward to any responses as I'm not a huge computer guy.
