Summary:
1. For NAVI and higher cards Links 2003 using latest drivers (21.1.1) displays a white polygonal 'spike' coming out of the ankle of the golfer in full-screen and windowed mode.
2. Driver fails to apply anti-aliasing to windowed mode while playing.
Setup:
Install Links 2003 from this site ($6):
https://www.linkscountryclub.com/proshop/links-2003-download-version
Install Patches (1.07 and AMD/NVIDIA Patch):
https://www.linkscountryclub.com/download
Download the following course and put it in the \Courses directory in Links2k3:
https://linkscorner.org/courses/course.php?crz=1890
Create profile in Radeon software on .exe called LinksMMIII.exe
Anti-Aliasing: Override application settings / 8xEQ / Supersampling
Morphological: Disabled
Anisotropic Filtering: 16X
Texture Filtering: High
Surface Format Optimization: Enabled
Tesselation Mode: AMD Optimized
Verify the following settings via regedit:
Computer\HKEY_CURRENT_USER\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Links 2003\DisplaySettings
Mode 15 (1920x1200) or Mode 14 (1920x1080)
Windowed 1
Repro Steps:
1. Launch Links2k3 via LinksMIII.exe
2. Choose Play Golf
3. Select the Pilgrims Trail Course from Above
4. Use alt-v to change view to 'close up' where golfer is largest in foreground.
Observe:
White polygon spike coming out of ankle, it also has a shadow interestingly.
No anti-aliasing in Windowed mode, golfer's club and shorts show this, see pic.
Expected:
No spike, and anti-aliasing in windowed mode.
This all works fine in non-NAVI cards like the prior gen RX590; no spike and anti-aliasing is applied in windowed mode
Actual:
White polygon spike coming out of ankle, it also has a shadow interestingly.
No anti-aliasing in Windowed mode, golfer's club and shorts show this, see pic.
Note:
Thank you for fixing the issue with anisotropic filtering not working, with 21.1.1 this has been re-implemented and looks great. :) @Matt_AMD
