Hello,
I have got two used AMD Radeon Pro WX-7100 GPUs from a good friend of mine. He had used these
GPUs for Blender and ProRender under Win10.
So I decide to build a Linux Render Workstation with Blender and ProRender to get a bit better
Render Performance.
I installed Ubuntu 18.04.2(Kernel 4.15) and the AMD Pro Driver: 19.30-909144-ubuntu-18.04.
After reboot, installing Blender 2.8.1 and loading a simple Blender 2.79 Projekt … Blender has
an absolute bad performance … 100 times slower than my old PC with a GeForce GTX 970.
The two GPUs are correctly displayed under the - System Settings Tab - for OpenCL devices
With installed ProRender and switched to Viewport Rendering, Blender freezes …
Is this a known problem?
I have installed Ubuntu and the driver with both GPUs installed. Maybe the Operating System and
driver must be installed with a single GPU only and the second GPU after the complete software
installation???
Which Ubuntu/Driver version will run properly with Blender and ProRender?
Any suggestions???
