I'm running "Oracle Linux Server release 7.9", kernel-3.10.0-1160.81.1.0.1.el7.x86_64. There is nothing unusual about the installation.
1. I just ran "yum update" so I'm at the latest kernel.
2. I ran "yum install amdgpu" and it installed around 17 items, including amdgpu* and mesa-amdgpu* programs.
3. When I run 'lspci | grep VGA' I get the following:
03:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Matrox Electronics Systems Ltd. Integrated Matrox G200eW3 Graphics Controller (rev 04)
3d:00.0 VGA compatible controller: Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. [AMD/ATI] Navi 14 [Radeon Pro W5500]
4. When I run 'amdgpu-install -y --usecase=graphics', I get the following:
Unsupported OS: /etc/os-release ID 'ol'
I've used this graphics card on dozens of systems running Red Hat and Oracle Linux, but never had a problem before. I purchased these cards from a retailer, and I tried to go to the AMD site for warranty assistance, but that site is down for maintenance.
Can anyone provide any assistance or suggestions? Is there a way to override the os-release ID or change it to Red Hat, perhaps?
Thanks,
Jack
