AMD DAYZ LOW GPU USAGE FIX

Since my last post here I have been studying the subjects even more, and looking for the differences in DX11 from driver 22.5.1 to 24.2.1, I finally found something that AMD did with the aim of improving performance in DX11 games to try to to match Nvidias, the addition of DXNAVI, an optimization for DX11/DX9.

With this in mind, I started looking in different places about it and got several answers and good explanations, I'll leave the links at the end of the post so you can read them.

For me, disabling DXNAVI from DX11 and using it in the standard way solved the problem of looking at the city and having reduced GPU usage and very low FPS.
It's worth saying that I tested with the 24.2.1 driver and was unsuccessful, but with the 23.11.1 (Driver that I use and that for me is better than the others)

Here is the GUIDE on how you can do it: https://nimez-dxswitch.pages.dev/NzDXSwitch
And here are some links with discussions on the subject:

Do it on your own and study the subject a little before trying, I am not responsible for any crash or damage to the operating system due to carrying out the process incorrectly.

The DX11 DLLs without NAVI in driver 23.11.1 are in the default directory, but in driver 24.2.1 they are in C:/Windows/System32.

HAA didn't really make much of a difference in fps, but what I noticed is the Terrain visibility setting is really heavy on performance. With it on High the game does have the fps drops and 60% gpu usage, but when it's set to Low the fps jumps to around 190fps (in the low fps areas) and gpu util. is around 80-90%.

I am starting to think that this is not really a driver issue, and it's more of a game engine issue as well as how good your cpu is since the game is DX11 and we don't know how well threaded the game is.

Nvidia might not have this problem because they are presumably better in DX11 compared to AMD, but AMD implemented DXNAVI which was supposed to improve performance. So I don't know what to think anymore.

I didn't have an AMD gpu before DXNAVI was implemented so I don't know  what playing DX11 games was like.

I think it's not game issue. If you turn off AMD DXNAVI dayz run much better.  That's what this entire thread is about. DXNAVI ruining performance of this game.

Yeah, you are right. But it's not just DayZ that suffers from DXNAVI a lot of other DX11 games are affected as well.  There are a lot of posts about it but for some reason AMD is sleeping on this issue.

I limited my fps to avoid stutters but it's still unstable. When I move the camera the FPS jumps up and down. BTW - your advice with HAA is helpfull. The gpu usage went up from 50% to about 80 and I got about 100 fps more. 50 fps in cherno before but now i can get up to 150. Really these fps spikes are suck, I play on 150 FPS but because of the unstable fps it feels like I am playing on much less.... I limited fps by radeon chill.

Apparently, as of 8th January 2025, DayZ Devs are aware of the issue and are communicating with AMD to fix it.  @Matt_AMD  Do you have any more details about this? Is AMD even aware of this?

Almost a year ago I wrote to bohemia the same thing and got the same answer
