AMD DAYZ LOW GPU USAGE FIX

Since my last post here I have been studying the subjects even more, and looking for the differences in DX11 from driver 22.5.1 to 24.2.1, I finally found something that AMD did with the aim of improving performance in DX11 games to try to to match Nvidias, the addition of DXNAVI, an optimization for DX11/DX9.

With this in mind, I started looking in different places about it and got several answers and good explanations, I'll leave the links at the end of the post so you can read them.

For me, disabling DXNAVI from DX11 and using it in the standard way solved the problem of looking at the city and having reduced GPU usage and very low FPS.
It's worth saying that I tested with the 24.2.1 driver and was unsuccessful, but with the 23.11.1 (Driver that I use and that for me is better than the others)

Here is the GUIDE on how you can do it: https://nimez-dxswitch.pages.dev/NzDXSwitch
And here are some links with discussions on the subject:
https://www.reddit.com/r/AMDHelp/comments/zx95x9/psa_disable_dxnavi/
https://www.reddit.com/r/Amd/comments/14ga51j/a_whole_year_and_things_that_broke_after_2251/

Do it on your own and study the subject a little before trying, I am not responsible for any crash or damage to the operating system due to carrying out the process incorrectly.

The DX11 DLLs without NAVI in driver 23.11.1 are in the default directory, but in driver 24.2.1 they are in C:/Windows/System32.

*UPDATE*

I tried DAYZ on a different PC, 6600XT, R5 5600x, 16Gb, Resizable Bar off.

I do get 99% gpu usage most of the time, sometimes drops to 80-85, but most of the time is 99% while CPU is 45-55% usage.

But the issue still persist on 6700XT, R5 5600x, 16Gb, Resizable Bar on, GPU usage is still below 50%.

I just don't understand at this point....

@Matt_AMD Please do something..
BTW - @tripledriple did you check the performance in RX 6700 XT with resizable bar off?

We did add some further improvements to this in the 24.12.1 driver, so that would explain why you are now seeing higher GPU utilisation. We tried to mimic your setup with the same GPU and ReBar on and did not see significant GPU utilisation drops.

Please can you share a video showing the issue and details of the area you saw it in. I can then pass this along for further investigation.

In fact, 24.12.1 keeps gpu usage at about 80%. The problem is stutters. When I turn towards the city my gpu usage drops as before to 30% but after about 1.5 seconds it rises to 90%. This causes a lot of stutters. I will test it longer and send the benchmark. Maybe it's only shader compiling.

Hello my specs are r5 7600 + 7800xt + 32GB RAM. I got 70-90 fps in the towns. It doesnt matter about which city is it. The stutter and fps drops are insane. I see that my GPU util is like %20-30 in these areas. Using the latest driver which is 24.12.1. I also tried 24.10 which is mentioned as "Driver which is fixed for DayZ issue". But problem still occures. I hope someone help. Are there any certain RDNA 3 fix?

@Matt_AMD Is there any possibility to simulate the game with this system and give me a solution? I hope you can help me on that.

Please see my post above. If you could capture a video, with an overlay present, showing the GPU usage drop that would be great and something I can pass along for additional investigation. Since the improvements we made to this in 24.12.1, we have not received any videos so far showing the issue which has made further progress difficult.

This game is already 7 years old and you still can't make decent drivers, shame as hell, 10 year old nvidia cards are 2x more efficient in Dayz than these new plastic crap of yours.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=90D6_0plP3o  This is what it looks like, what more is there to show?

When you fix the pixel textures in Dayz, it's impossible to look at this horror, there was no such thing on my former gtx 1080, and the fps is very small in the game, I had practically the same fps on gtx 1080

Hello @Matt_AMD, here is the video that I captured with an AMD overlay at the right-up corner. You can see what the utils are, etc. I tried all the settings low-medium-high-extreme to show you how it reacts. I hope you can examine what is going on with these drivers and be able to let me play with what we deserve. I will be waiting to see your answer. Have a great day.

Thank you for providing the video, I'll pass this along for additional investigation.

Driver developers, remove these terrible pixels in the Dayz game from the game, this happens only on your video cards, I play on the rx7800xt that I recently bought, but if nothing gets better in the future, I will change to Nvidia. I used 7800xt for oneапапрарар.jpggame and it's Dayz.  Here is a screenshot from the game, look at the textures.

Hello AMD,

If you are unable to find a balanced solution for older games, could you offer us a choice during driver installation? One with DXNAVI and one without this component? Or perhaps two separate driver packages available for download on the official website?

Currently, there are third-party solutions for modifying driver packages during installation, but most users lack the expertise to do this on their own. And why should we, the people who purchased your products, have to look for solutions and risk installing software from uncertified developers just to make your hardware function properly?

You don’t need competitors to ruin your business; just continue ignoring your customers' issues. I have been a loyal fan of ATI products for decades! However, now you are shamefully abandoning the high-end segment, and it’s quite possible you may shut down this direction entirely.

I don’t think Intel and Nvidia will leave any room for you if this is how you tr

eat us.

I didn't wait any longer for the developers to make a good driver, so that my favorite game would fly as it should, today I changed 7800xt to Rtx 4070 and all the problems were solved, and the performance became better and more stable and the picture is beautiful without pixels, it's a pity, but everything is fair, you didn't cope, guys, but your processors are good, bye.
