I purchased a 7900 XTX several days ago, and I've been experiencing driver timeouts not in every game though. My previous rtx 3070 also had occasional GPU crashes, though not as frequently as my 7900 XTX which draws more power, which leads me to believe there might be an underlying instability issue. I checked the ASUS website for the latest gpu driver they listed probably also tested, which is 24.8.1. After reverting to it, the system is now more stable. For example, with the latest driver, I couldn't play PUBG on DirectX 11 without a crash after 10-15 minutes. Reverting to the older driver made the game playable. I'm unsure if this is a driver issue, or if some cards simply react differently to drivers also boosting above the advertised boost clock speeds should be normal behaviour every gpu does that.
