Problem: Getting BLACK screens, PC locks up and having to power off/on.
Investigations: Problem happens during 'grapically intensive' processing, Gaming or benchmarking GFX, so this points to a temperature problem. Loaded up GPU-Z to monitor and logs temps during gaming and noticed that the 'GPU HOTSPOT' recorded a 511 prior to system lockup and shutdown so i decided to benchmark the GFX to simulate heavy load (Heaven Banchmark 4.0 - settings to ultra ) and again after a period of time (not long enough to complete test) it black screened and locked up.
Did some research and this problem has been about for quite a while, it seems to go dormant for a bit and rears its ugly head on some driver updates and nows its back! Some people have reported having luck with a 'pro' driver version that does not log the 'hot spot' so i installed the latest PRO version but yup it still logs the Hot Spot and also black screens.
So what luck have people had with other driver versions to stop this problem from happening?
