AFMF2 Tearing with 7900 XTX on a VRR Connected Monitor with MSFS 2020

I started using AFMF2 to play MSFS 2020.

My 7900 XTX is connected to a Samsung Q90T which supports 4K@120HZ VRR.

However, with V-Sync off in MSFS (tried on also), Anti-Lag and Enhanced Sync enabled, AFMF2 is causing tearing.

Adrenaline version 24.12.1

Does AFMF2 support VRR?

Yes V-Sync is disabled in MSFS, I'll try "chill".

I'm having similar issues. I didn't run into this much when I had windows 10, but when I did a clean install of windows 11, I have had very little luck getting AFMF 2 to work properly.

All my games show it being enabled, but once enabled, the framerate appears to cut in half and screen tears, but the performance metrics show double frame rate. It's like something is wrong with freesync, scheduling, or some kind of interference. I've tried chill, riva's frame limiter, advanced sync options, turning off my other monitors, DDU on the drivers in safe mode, and ensuring all overlays are disabled.

Sorry I don't have any suggestions, but I just wanted to say I see similar problems with a fresh PC.

I also have the same problem you described: AFMF doesn't work correctly for me either—lots of tearing, artifacts, and stuttering, making games unplayable. And it's the same with AFMF 2.1 released today, although I feel it's a bit better, there's still a lot of tearing, and it's still unplayable.

I have a 7900XTX XFX, Ryzen 7 7700, Windows 11 23H2 on a Sony OLED 4K 120Hz TV. I ran the same tests as you, and nothing works...

I also think there's an issue with VRR synchronization, but what exactly? However, I bought Lossless Scaling, and it works great; games become super smooth! But it only works in Windowed Mode, so not all games...

How is it that third-party software can do better than AMD? It's outrageous! I reported the issue using the tool in the drivers to AMD, and I hope they find a solution, but I doubt it... I'm afraid my high-end hardware might be incompatible with this technology. It's pity !

But if someone have a fix, please tell us what to do !
