Hello i own a ryzen 5 3600x and a rx 5500 xt and im tryng to activate Smart Access Memore setting, im already change the pci opcion 4g decoding and the resize bar in my bios, im try to do a clean install of the drivers but didn't work , help plz
I have the same issue with my RX 5700 XT.
GPU-Z indicates that the Resizable Bar option is enabled
but the gpu hardware support is set to NO , while these cards are supposed to support it.
Hi,
You must also disable the CSM (Compability Support Module) in BIOS > Boot settings and enable UEFI mode.
However the problem with this is if You had installed Windows in legacy mode (non UEFI mode) Windows will Not Boot until You reinstall Windows in UEFI mode. If Windows will not boot then activate CSM again and then decide how You want to proceed with reinstall the Windows or not at a later time.
Another thing is that in order to install it in UEFI mode the system HDD/SSD has to be partioned with GPT and Not MBR.
You can check this by enter Disk Management utility > your system disk > right click in the left pane > properties > volumes
In my case my Windows was installed with GPT partitioned and when I checked in Windows Systeminformation (Start > type msinfo) under Bios it already said UEFI.
Then I just had to disable CSM (Compability Support Module) in Bios > Boot settings and under Advanced settings Above 4G Decoding parameter to “Enabled,” and ensure that the “Re-size BAR Support” parameter is set to “Auto.”
Save & exit and reboot the system twice, without to have to reinstall my Windows

thanks.
I have the same setup but the SMA option still disabled in the Radeon interface.
mmm...
I'll try to play with my bios settings.
Its seems that only work with gpu rx 6000 series for now, so time to wait till amd have mercy on us XD
Just fixed it with going to bios, disabling Sam, booting, and again reboot, go to bios, enable sam, after logging into windows it has detected hardware change and asked to reboot again. After that Sam started to work and Radeon drivers properly recognized and enabled it in adrenalin.
I have noticed that now i can lower voltage from 90 to 87% without crashes. Games boosted about 5-10fps from 70 to 75-80
thanks I got the driver change warning, but still no SAM recognized
You don't have a 6000 series GPU. How do you expect to enable a feature that is not working with your GPU ?
Maybe they will support it in the future but for now it's not supported.
Activating SAM on my rig: 3Dmark Time spy
SAM Disabled
Assassins Creed Valhalla @Ultrasettings and Resolution scale: 120%
Monitor: 2560x1440 @165Hz
SAM enabled 100 FPS
SAM Disabled 91 FPS
- So SAM really does improvements.
