8700G Monitor Resolution.

Hi, I've just installed a 8700G in Windows 10 using a monitor capable of 1920x1080 @60hz, but can only get a maximum resolution of 1360x768.

I'm using the latest driver 31.0.24002.92 and the display adapter options also top out at 1360x768.

Can't see anyone here or elsewhere online with this issue, so what have I missed?

Thanks a lot, but I think I've just found a solution in Windows. In the advanced display settings there's an option for unsupported resolutions. I checked this and 1920x1080 appeared.

I think because it's a tv you lose a few mm off each edge of the screen and that's why it was not appearing as available.

I'll have another go with the tv settings as well to see if I can get the full screen. Maybe time to get a proper monitor!

Please list complete system specs.

Have you installed both the AMD chipset driver AND the Adrenalin graphics software?

Hi,

Ryzen 8700G | Asrock B650M HDV-M2 | 2x16 Corsair Vengeance 6400 | No discrete GPU.

My monitor is actually a TV connected by HDMI.

Yes, I've installed Adrenalin as well as the chipset drivers.

Thanks

Per your motherboard spec page - 1 x HDMI 2.1 TMDS/FRL 8G Compatible, supports HDR, HDCP 2.3 and max. resolution up to 4K 120Hz

Have you tried swapping out HDMI cables?

No, I don't have a spare lead; but it works fine with my laptop @ 1080p

Make & Model of your Monitor and Monitor cable.

Are you using HDMI or DP to connect your Monitor?

Does your Monitor have any settings for HDMI or DP that you can change?

Go to Windows Settings and see what are the "List All Modes" for your GPU card:

Hi,

Monitor is Sony Bravia tv connected by HDMI. DP not supported. Can't change HDMI settings on TV.

1360x768 is maximum mode listed.

Tried to find your Sony Bravia to look at the TV Manual. Found this one model that has 1920 x 1080@60hz .

Sony Bravia Model: KDL-32S5100:https://www.sony.com/electronics/support/product/kdl-32s5100/manuals

Don't know if this is your model or not but it might have the same type or similar menu and Remote control:

Windows should be able to query your display for supported resolutions, regardless whether it's a TV or monitor.

Under Device Manager, Monitors, what device is indicated?

Even with only a basic device driver, ie. "Generic Monitor" or "Generic PnP Monitor" my TV is detected with every resolution from the min 1360x768 up to the recommended 3840x2160 @ 60Hz.

Shows as Generic PnP in Device Manager and is identified as "Sony TV" in Advanced Display Settings. Maximum available is 1920x1080.

I don't have the remote that you found, nor the same range of functions, so I can't change any TV settings.
