6700xt driver crash and disabling gpu driver timeout

hello forum users.

for the last 3 months i have been dealing with a random black screen followed by me having to restart the pc and it disabling the gpu.
i have tried a lot of things to fix this and have looked around for a fix but there seem to be a lot more people with this issue and i haven't found a fix yet.

the problem happens at random but most of the time when I'm doing something that's not that intense.
it happens most when waiting in a q for an overwatch game for some reason but will also do that while browsing the web.

so far i have tried.
reinstalling another driver with ddu about 5 times.
turning off ulps.
undervolting or overclocking card.
bios update.
tried windows 11 and went back to win 10.
changing ram speed and or psu.
turning off recording.
turning off or on v sync.
capping fps.
changing monitor cable or using only 1 monitor (im using a 240hz and a 144hz)
and a whole lot of other things that might cause it to crash.

here are my specs : 5800x3d with gskill 3200 ram
6700xt from AMD.
asrock b450m pro4 with latest bios
corsair cv750 psu.

I'm honestly out of options as far as I know and there is a lot more ppl that are dealing with this issue and its not only on the 6700xt.

I've been having very similar issues with my 6700xt but only since I updated to Adrenaline 24.10.1. It happens when opening games like BeamNG and even just when watching youtube videos in 4K. I'm going to try downgrading and I'll reply again if I find a stable driver version

after switching to 24.7.1 all my issues seem to be gone, im not sure if this will work for you

that sounds similar to the problems I had at the beginning with 24.9.1...
what exactly do you mean by "and it disabling the GPU"?
that Adrenaline no longer starts after you reboot?

one of the causes was that the RAM voltage was apparently already at the limit and after the update (Windows updates always come out at the same time) this led to so many write/read errors in the RAM that I had to increase the RAM voltage from 1.36v to 1.37v (with the XMP 1.35v the PC could never boot, for whatever reason)
I had similar problems a few times with my undervolted CPU cores with previous Windows updates -_-
you often read that changing the energy saving mode to "balanced" helped people who had such problems.

I also had the problem that the access rights to the folder/files in the AMD installation directory were so restricted that processes like amdrsserv.exe, which is located there, could no longer interact properly

--->>> just look in the event log after the reboot to see which "critical errors in the last hour" were logged

What i meant by "it disabling the GPU" was after i would have to force restart the pc it would show the gpu tp be disabled in device manager where i would have to enable it manually and restart again.

I went back to 24.7.1 wich i had try before and it would still crash. But just to be sure i used ddu and reinstalled it again.

I also read some post about the power setting and have changed it to balanced and for now the crashes seem to have stopped, but at the same time i also upped my ram voltage to 1.4 wich is perfectly safe for the ram that i have, my 5800x3d is also undervolted but before these crashes happenned it worked fine for about 6 months.

Whenever i looked into the event viewer when it crashed it did show something

Related to amd. It was a couple weeks ago so it might be the one you mentioned, i just cand find the log anymore since its from a few weeks ago

I havent crashed in about 2 weeks now so im hoping its solved. Will comment again if it comes back.

Very much appreciate all the help, was pulling my hair out for days trying to solve it

Nearby everyone i know with a RX6xxx hav problems with 24.10.1 at the moment...
especially since the last Windows11 update everyone with Win11 24H2 needs to
do a rollback to 23H2 or a clean reinstall
