Could you please provide steps to reproduce the issue? Where to get the "GoldSrc games" from?

Adrenalin 24.10.1 (WHQL Recommended) still broken, only 24.5.1 works fine. Win11(23h2), RX 6800 XT(latest firmware), 5800xd3, 32gb 3600mhz, b450-m plus gaming motherboard(latest firmware).

  • Counter-Strike (2000)
  • Half-Life (1998)
  • Half-Life: Opposing Force (1999)
  • Half-Life: Blue Shift (2001)

All games installed from Steam, same black screen with white box on all of them. They are using GoldSrc (GoldSource) engine, OpenGL renderer not sure which version of it. To reproduce the issue all you have to do is install the drivers that are newer than 24.5.1, install any of those games from Steam(store) and launch them, all you get is black screen with a white box, tho sound is working,

I don't have CS, i have just installed O.F & B.S., both are working.

Did you try the changing launch options fix on HL1.

Thanks for the reply. Yeah i tried -software launch option to get it to use software rendering mode instead of OpenGL got it to show intro video but then it freezes after the intro still, tried changing resolutions via launch options (-w 1920 -h 1080), tried changing games to use pre 2013 updates visual stuff with command -nofbo. Also tried changing versions of the games betas etc. like you did in your previous post.

Did a fresh install of Windows 11 24H2, still same stuff. Shame really wanna play those old games, and use new drivers for AMD Fluid Motion frames.

Launch Counter Strike 1.6 directly from Steam  with the driver version 24.6.1/24.7.1 and getting blackscreen 1.png

Rollback to 24.5.1 and issues gone but Anti Lag 2 for CS2 also gone

i have HL working, chose beta pre 25th then increased res (twice to get to 1440p). Game started.

Restarted steam, changed back to no beta, game updated 27Mb.

Starts every time now (so far for several days).

I'm on 100% (Recommended) also.

I use recommended.

I have the Half Life 1 series working.

Seems the game was launching in very low resolution, needed to get into game menu through different launch options to increase it.

(I'll try to share this to the other relevant posts)

For now, we're suspecting that the OpenGL UMDs are not properly installing on impacted systems.

To help us verify, could you folks please share an INF log following a driver install of 24.6.1 or newer?

After installing the driver package, you should be able to find the log file over at:

C:\Windows\INF\setupapi.dev.log

Bear in mind that older INF logs have datestamps prepended to the file names like so:

AMDVik_0-1734099741473.png

Some of these may pertain to prior Adrenalin installations.

My logs might look like a mess i've done many driver reinstalls today, I was testing for people over here

Could you please share the Display Settings like in the screenshot attached?
How many displays are you using? Could you please provide the models + screen resolution + cable type (DisplayPort or HDMI or sth else)?
Could you please try run the game with only one display physically connected to the GPU?
Could you please try different cable type used (DisplayPort / HDMI)?
