RX 7700XT Crashes / Reboots PC while in games

Hi everyone,

I'm having some issues with what I believe is the GPU on my brand new computer.

Namely, whenever I try to play video games on it or run a stress test, the PC will crash and reboot itself. Windows event viewer just says Kernel Power Error 41, and I haven't been able to find a solution online either.

Usually, the reboot only happens when I go into a game or stress test, but if I have a 2nd monitor plugged in, it will also crash while just browsing the internet.

It seemingly happens whenever the GPU gets more than ~200-210W of power.

Here are a couple of things I've done so far:

- Plugged the graphics card out and in again

- Plugged the RAM sticks out and in again

- Checked all the PSU cables

- Installed the latest drivers

- Installed the newest BIOS update

- Tweaked power settings on windows and AMD Adrenaline

- Tried different games

- Tried uninstalling AMD Adrenaline

- Tried different PSU cables

- Using only HDMI

- Using only Display Port

- Checked temperatures, they never go above 50-60C

Is there anything else that can be done? I'm considering just sending the graphics card back through the warranty and getting a new one/some other graphics card.

Specs:
GPU: AMD RT 7700XT

CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 7600X

PSU: Corsair G12X 750W

RAM: 32 Gigs DDR5

OS: Windows 11 Pro

You have tried most of the things I would have tried; sorry you haven't found the solution yet.  It could be a power issue between the GPU and your PSU.  Besides trying different PSU cables, I would try plugging them into different PSU ports (you might have up to four to try), and if your GPU has two 8-pin connectors, I would use two separate PSU cables from the PSU to the GPU.

Hi there, thank you for the response. This, unfortunately, did not help either. I think I'm going to send the GPU back and get another one or some other GPU. Quite sad since I was really excited to build this pc.

I suspect the PSU more than the GPU.

I would agree with Al. Question though, have you done any undervolting or anything in Ryzen Master? I know too much of an undervolt with the curve offset can cause this problem. It has for me.
