How can I tell when I my CPU is holding back my system?
Hello Red Team,
For the longest time I have been a console gamer that played minor titles on my laptop to play during college and on the go. Over the last couple of years, I have built my first stable rig that has been doing great with everything that I have thrown at it so far. My first upgrade to my system was going from a 5700 XT to an RX 6700 XT, and saw a decent about of performance boost from this without breaking the bank.
My question though is when is it time to start thinking of upgrading to new CPU/Motherboard. How will I know if my system is bottlenecking because of my CPU?
Thanks!
GPU: RX 6700 XT
CPU: Ryzen 7 3700x
RAM: 64 GB DDR4 3600 MHz

check CPU vs GPU usage when gaming .. IF CPU is at say 90+ % and GPU is at 60'ish% .. then you know your CPU is bottlenecking your GPU
Make sure your FCLK matches your RAM .. so running RAM at 3600 .. FCLK should be at 1800 (might help a smidge with CPU performance)

While gaming, if your CPU is maxxed and your AMD GPU is not...
