Switchback And AMD Bring AI To BattleBots
I don't know about you, but I used to LOVE watching BattleBots growing up. So this update I would like to share with you all has a special place in my heart ❤️
If you didn't know, AMD-Xilinx has long supported FIRST Robotics Competitions and has been part of the NI (formerly National Instruments) robotics platform used for these competitions since 2009. Check out the excitement we're bringing to the BattleBot arena here.

It's always amazing when I learn about how many more "spaces" AMD makes a presence in. For so long whenever I heard AMD, it was just gaming computer parts and nothing else.
Now, I know they are part of Datacenters, AI, Cloud, Automotive, Sustainability, Aerospace & Entertainment - in addition to Gaming.
Also, BattleBots are a lot of fun to watch. I've never seen a full competition, but I've enjoyed a couple of Youtube compilations.

Both my wife Sandra and I love watching BattleBots. My favorite bot was Mega-Cat-Bot, because I love cats. Sandra is also an electrical engineer (like me) and we can appreciate the complexity of the designs that fight it out in the arena. It's mostly a mechanical design problem when you consider the yield stresses and hardening that goes into certain materials like steel and such. We would do better trying to design the controls of the robot but you need lots of skills for a bot that is ready to compete against others trying to destroy it.
What main weapon would your robot use? I personally like the robots that can flip others, but that sort of mechanism needs to be fast with minimal recharge time so you can keep trying to flip the enemy.
Mega-Cat-Bot
As Albert Einstein said, "I could have done so much more with a Big Al's Computer!".
