Lately I've been getting into recording some guitar tracks with my Focusrite Scarlett solo. I got a free copy of Presonus Studio One 6 when I bought a Spark 40 practice Amp, but it's not very user-friendly and a headache to set up and use. I'm hoping someone can give me a few suggestions on better, more beginner software. Cheers all.
I think Audacity is still around.
I used Audacity to record many of my King Crimson records to an iPod via a USB turntable about 10 years ago when I retired. The software worked well for me. I kind of lost interest in doing that with the music streaming services that are available now.
I'll check it out!
Like Big Al, I recorded all of my old LP's to digital. However that was 20 - 25 years ago. At that time I used the software from Creative Labs that came with my Sound Blaster X-Fi card. I preferred conversion into the wave file extension (.wav). Since that application no longer exist, I found that Audacity was the best that I could find that mirrored the Creative Labs product.
From what I'm reading it also will work with my DAW. It looks pretty user-friendly also. I'll report back after I've given it a go
DAW? Digital to Analog whatchmacallit? Or a Digital Audio Workstation?
