Funny you should ask. My wife and I planned on retiring at age 55, and that's what we did. I'm 1.5 years older, so I retired first. In February 2024, I will have been retired 10 years. But this was only possible because we saved our money and invested it (not in Bitcoin, mind you) wisely. Mutual funds and things of this nature. We didn't keep buying new houses like some of our friends have done. We've been in the same house 32 years. We put both of our kids through university. We support many charities. My most important recommendation to people just starting out in their careers is to start saving and investing your money early. Don't wait until you are 40 years old before thinking about retirement. Put money into your 401K. If your company matches a percentage, make sure you maximize what they will match.
Make my YouTube channel give me money? 🤣
I'm a cost conscious person so I save every penny. Still using tshirts with +35years from my childhood.
Same car, same house, keeping the phone for longer, maintaining/repairing my stuff to avoid extra costs.
When the time comes, maybe 55, that sure sounds a good age to do it. Sell the house and leave the city life for a cheaper house far away to enjoy retirement.
The only thing that I won't save money, going out for a good meal and travel.
and maybe computer parts? lol
I'll retire when I'm dead.
