light on motherboard

B450 tomahawk max

I think light behind motherboard is only for decoration.

It was red before and its always on and that should be normal but now that light is yellow and I didnt change it.

Can that indicate soemthing else?

That seems to be MSI Mystic Light (RGB) for the Motherboard: https://www.msi.com/Motherboard/B450-TOMAHAWK-MAX/Overview

The changing of the RGB Colors doesn't mean anything as far as how the Motherboard is working correctly or not.

You can manually change the Mobo colors yourself.

You can turn it off in the bios also.

Check the start during bootup option in your settings of the software you are using so that it starts when computer boots.

Civilziation 6 did crash once and I saw graphical artifacts in fog over map but they did disapear after enabling vsync. So I did run Horizon zero dawn for 2h with gpu at 100% 6700XT temp 51C and no problem. I did hear crackling sound and it did disappear after 1 hour but it could be noise from some fan.

Great Temps!

Crackling? I am an electrician by trade and if you said that I know there is an issue but with video cards that words I'm not sure. Still freaks me out a little but if you think it was a fan, cool.

It freaks you out so imagine how I feel ahahaha. again most of people I know would not hear it but I always notice details.

That noise occurs for some time now and its all good for now.

I did hear strange buzzing sound from gpu before not too loud when my fans did spin at lower rpm.

this crackling or sparkling noise can be from gpu or motherboard but maybe fan too its very hard to tell.

I wanted to keep it cool!!! 😄

I have 7x arctic P14 pwm fans (140mm) in define s case and space for 2 more and they spin at 1600rpm and my pc is always on and wraith prism was most of time at max rpm around 3000 maybe but its loud. gpu is 1.7kg  3 slot  strix model.

I think fans will start to make noise after some time maybe bearings inside because of wear.

I did hear crackling or sparkling noise  it was almost same from psu after power outage even with psu switch on 0 as long as  it was connected to extended power cable and I did buy quality one with 3x2.5mm cable and with quality components inside case(I dont know word for that part). But now I hear nothing from psu.

that one time after power outage turning light on in other room did cause that sound but again next day and now I can turn on that same light in other room and psu will not make any noise very strange I must say.

maybe electricity infrastructure (you know what I mean :D) should be improved in my area idk.

Could be one of your devices failing or a loose connection on one of those devices (outlet, switch)

Could also be a load issue, maybe getting close to tripping if you have alot going on.

Neutrals are shared. Circuit 1 and 3, 2 and 4 etc... can use 1 neutral to cover the areas. So sometimes interference is caused if you have a controllable led lamp or something like that nearby. Just a few things that could cause noises if it was on the electrical end and not a bad PSU.

well in that room that light is some stick old tech 20+ years maybe. something like neon bar and when i turn it on it makes some loud sound and it flashes I plan to replace it soon.

well more investigation is needed for sure but I am not expert.

If you are using Mystic Light or some other software, in the settings, checkmark the start at boot option and it will apply your settings at every boot instead of having to manually do it everytime.

I never installed mystic light. Its why this is strange to me. I dont think led part on motherboard can wear from use like rubber lets say.

If you haven't installed MSI Center (Dragon Center  is old version) you should download and install it.  You will find Mystic Light feature and you can change it to anything you like, and yes it has an RGB Rainbow setting where it changes. Just install it and play with that feature.  There might be some other features that you may like as well if your a hard core gamer.  The feature I like best is the Live update for the BIOS.

If it ain't broke; don't fix it!
