Windows using integrated graphics instead of the right GPU

I reset my pc after getting my 500hz monitor only to find out windows is using integrated graphics GPU: AMD Radeon(TM) Graphics instead of my RX 7900 XTX I've looked up many videos that say to use (Switchable Dynamic Graphics) but I cant see it in powerplan options I've gone into my bios and cant find a way to switch my gpu to RX 7900 XTX some games that let me pick work perfectly fine with my XTX but other games that use what windows preferred (integrated graphics) run like poop only way I can switch it to the XTX is to disable the integrated graphics driver in computer management please help and also when I go into graphics settings and I go to pick the GPU I want to use Power saving and High Performance are both the integrated graphics

Do you need the iGPU? If not, you can disable it inside BIOS.

Or..

Go to graphic settings under windows, add the game to the list, open options and force the use of the dGPU.

Switchable Graphics is an option on laptops and mobile with integrated and discrete graphics to switch between low power and performance modes.

This is not an option for desktop cards such as the 7900 XTX. Plug the monitor directly into the 7900 XTX card, and as @johnnyenglish states, you may as well disable the IGP if not using it.

Ryzen R7 5700X | B550 Gaming X | 2x16GB G.Skill 3600 | Radeon RX 7900XT
Ryzen R7 5700G | B550 Gaming X | 2x8GB G.Skill 4000 | Radeon Vega 8 IGP
Ryzen R5 5600 | B550 Gaming Edge | 4x8GB G.Skill 3600 | Radeon RX 6800XT

I can't be sure about the 7900XTX, but on desktop that option was once available, could be an old option though.

Maybe if you cabled both the motherboard and discrete outputs and switched between them using the monitor select? Or use 2 monitors.

There also used to be a Hybrid/Dual Graphics. In order to use the onboard/IGP for power saving you had to keep the monitor connected to the motherboard, but the performance loss of piping the output from the discrete card through the PCIe bus out the motherboard made it impracticable for anything other than a low-end discrete card.

With the lower power state that modern discrete cards operate at it doesn't seem worth the hassle.

I'm sorry, it is unlikely the same issue since your 5600X does not have an iGPU.
