Streaming platforms (Netflix, HBO Max, Prime Video, etc) look bad.

Hi, I have a curious case and I don't know how to solve it.

When I use Netflix or HBO on the browser for example, the image quality is poor, is 720p or less. But that happens just when the image is provided by the GPU (RX 6700 XT).

The thing is that when I use those platforms (and others, such as Prime Video or Disney+) with the image provided by the Intel UHD (i5 12400) there is no problem and the image quality is just fine.

I don't have internet issues (300mbps download, 30mpbs upload), so that's not the problem.

I appreciate so much if you can help me, please.

If there is a problem with the hardware or software, it should be reflected in the video playback in general. So if streams such as Netflix or HBO show up as poor quality in the browser, then you should also see poor quality videos on e.g. YouTube or in a video player such as Windows Mediaplayer or VLC. You can rule out problems by e.g. downloading an official streaming app and checking if the quality problem recurs when using a Radeon gpu. The Radeon gpu supports DRM and HDCP, so there should be no problem with playback quality. By any chance you haven't tweaked any settings in Adrenalin that degrade video quality?

Did you ever get this sorted out? I've been seeing exactly the same kind of issues with AMD processors not allowing UHD content from Netflix or Prime to be shown. It seems this is because of one or two crucial issues around the DRM (copy protection) used which mandates HDCP2.2 support and Advanced Protected Audio/Video Path support when HDMI display interfaces are being used (you can download free Cyberlink's BluRay/UHD advisor tool to determine this)

I have a 11th gen Intel notebook that can display Netflix/Prime UHD 4k content just fine through an HDMI port to the same HDCP2.2 compliant UHD monitor but two AMD systems that won't show anything above HD1080.. one a Ryzen 7 2700x with Nvidia Geoforce RTX 2070 and one a Ryzen 5500U  system with integrated Radeon graphics , both systems have HDCP support and enabled in the graphics drivers but the one common factor is that both report no Advanced Protected Audio/Video path support present.
