I thought I was a savvy consumer, and after weeks of research I pulled the trigger on a budget/mid tier Lenovo Yoga 6 w/ Ryzen 7730u (13in; 16gb DDR4; 1 TB SSD) All in $580 new on a good sale.
I’ve read through threads here that the 7735u is a significant jump in performance due to the RDNA2 arch in the iGPU. Checked benchmarks with significant jumps, often 20-30% beyond the 7730. And finally, read that the naming conventions are intentionally anti-consumer and I likely got caught in that.
Queue me finding a Lenovo Yoga 7 w/ Ruzen 7735u (16in; 16gb DDR5; 1 TB SSD) for $750 new.
What would you do? Is this increase in performance and more modern RAM spec worth it? Or is this too much on personal preference?
My primary goal with this was to have a mobile photo editing station, but also binge games like older Total Wars and Civ at home when the mood strikes. As such the realization I misread the iGPU spec directly impacts my use case.
