Hey there!

My Edc is always around 90% even when im writing this message.

I saw all the posts about this, but I would really apprieciate some correct answers.

My Specs:

Rx 6650Xt (recently upgraded, +updated bios)

R7 2700X

Msi b450-a pro max

650w bronze psu

2x16gb gskill 3200mhz ram

All drivers&windows up do date.

Should I try to change the powerplan settings?  (if so, what settings exactly)

I have always been using ryzen balanced.

Thanks.

It appears you have already changed settings. Maybe you didn't understand or realize what you were doing?

The PPT is set to an insanely high 1000W power limit.

All eight cores appear to be loaded and operating at 4050MHz.

Unless you have manually set a fixed operating frequency and CPU voltage of 1.4V?

If you claim you haven't changed anything, the EDC is the least of your worries.

Hey there thank you for your reply.

I can 100% be assured that I did not change anything in ryzen master or in the bios, except precision boost overdrive. May that cause those changes you mentioned? i definitly did not set 1000W of power limit for PPT. Or do you think maybe the bios update could do this? I updated from a really old version (7B86vM5) to the newest non-beta version.

I downloaded the program the same day I posted this, and I was curious about the EDC being yellow around ~90% all the time. About the voltage and Mhz I suppose I made the screenshot at the right time. its not fixed. https://imgur.com/a/QlupZme

So am I fine with these setting or do you recommend changing something?

Thank you.

If you have gone into PBO section of the BIOS and changed a setting, such as from Auto to Manual, that is considered overclocking and should have displayed a warning indicating as such.

Precision Boost (PB) is the default boost the processor performs from the factory.

Precision Boost Overdrive (PBO) is a user customizable overclock function.

Recommend you perform a clear CMOS or Load Optimized Defaults to restore factory settings.

As to your original question about EDC, yes PPT, TDC and EDC are factory-set power limits designed to prevent the processor from exceeding design specifications, so it is normal for one or more of these to indicate "yellow" or "red" during high-load conditions. But it is not normal for those to be in that condition all or "90%" of the time.
