Problem with amdpmfserviceuser.exe (Ryzen 9 8945HS, Windows 11)

Hello everyone,

I have an HP Omen PC with a Ryzen 9 8945HS processor and a GTX4060 running Windows 11 24H2 (up to date).

I have a problem with the “amdpmfserviceuser” service which, when closing some software, opens a cmd window and doesn't close it again (it stays open indefinitely).

The event handler returns the following error :

“The description of event ID 1 in the AMDPMFServiceUser source cannot be found. The component that triggered this event is not installed on the local computer, or the installation is damaged. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.

If the event originates from another computer, the display information must be recorded with the event.

The following information has been included with the event:

AMDPMFServiceUser

IdleTrackingAgent ::sendIdleDataToDriver : DeviceIoControl failed with 0x00000006

The message resource is present, but the message cannot be found in the message table."

I've updated the AMD drivers (GPU and CPU)

This problem appeared not so long ago, without any noticeable changes...

Thanks for your help

Hello,
We can close this topic because I've found the cause of my problem.
On this type of gaming hardware, HP has installed an application that manages CPU and GPU performance.
One of the functions of this application is to stop some services and the amdpmfservice is one of the stopped services.
By removing it from this list, everything works perfectly 🙂
