Persistent freezing in GTA V with RX 7600 XT 16GB - Issue not present with previous GPU

I'm experiencing frequent 4-5 second freezes in GTA V with my RX 7600 XT 16GB, even on a fresh install without mods. This never happened with my previous RX 580.

System Specs:

  • GPU: RX 7600 XT 16GB
  • CPU: Ryzen 5 1600
  • RAM: 32GB
  • PSU: 750W (850W available)

Troubleshooting Attempted:

  • Clean driver install (DDU)
  • Tried multiple driver versions (24.8.1, 23.12.1)
  • Adjusted virtual memory (16GB min, 24GB max)
  • Disabled MPO (Multi-Plane Overlay)

The issue persists, and the game takes ~15 seconds to reach the loading screen. Since my RX 580 had no such issues, I suspect a compatibility or performance problem with the RX 7600 XT.

Has anyone else faced this with the RX 7600 XT in GTA V? Any solutions?

Are there issues with other games or just with GTA V?  If it's just GTA V, you might go to their website and look for other people having similar problems.  There could be a patch to install for the game.  The current Adrenalin driver for your GPU is 24.12.1; you should be installing that one.

Thank you for your reply and amazing quote, I tried other games and It's only GTA V that's freezing for a few seconds then resuming for a couple mis before doing it again. My other games run just fine, I also have  24.12.1 installed.

Maybe you can somehow switch to DirectX 10.1 and give that a try.  Look at this.

Unfortunately, I just tried this and it still freezes however, I was able to play a little longer before the freeze.
