PC shutting down on some games

i set up the pc a little over a month ago, and for games like SCUM and ARK, i can play quietly, but when i go to play Warframe or CS: GO, after a few minutes the PC just shuts down, not from the blue screen and no other color, just hangs up as if you had pressed the power, i performed some tests checking the temperature of the GPU and it did not exceed 74ºC...

i did stress tests with AIDA64 and another soft part to stress GPU, all components in 100% use, reached 81ºC but the PC did not turn off, is only in some games

can anyone help me?

NOTE: I apologize if I posted in the wrong place / sorry for some grammar mistake, i'm brazilian

I have the same problem with the rx 570.. After Windows october update i'm having freezer After few minutes on all my games (Apex Legends, for honor and Batman Arkham knight)... I've tried a lot of things: check RAM and hdd integrity, reinstall games, reinstall Windows, reinstall vc_redist, malware and virus Scan, update GPU driver, downgrade GPU driver, update hardware drivers (monitor, CPU, USB, audio, ecc), SFC/scannow with zero violatons, checked PSU, GPU, CPU and motherboard cable, play with less core or with max fps level, disable vsync, play in Window mode.. and other stuff.. I don't know what to do anymore.. everything I try, games freezes PC After 2-5 min.. sometimes with bsod and sometimes with a buzz audio and video freeze..

PC spec: i5 4460, 8gb ram, rx 570 4gb

Before Windows october update i've played with zero crash Batman Arkham knight at high settings at 60fps.. Also for Honor 200+hours of games without problems..

Yesterday i've done a stress test with AIDA64 and it told me that the TdrDelay was too low so suggested me to set it to high, and it does. The stress test finished without problems, temp stayed under 40° because i have 5 fans in the case (3 for air flow-out and 2 for air flow-in), gpu and cpu goes well, also the RAM. So i don't know wher's the problem. I will try games and let you know. Before this test i've done a malware scan with windows malware tool and with malwerbytes: zero results.

UPDATE: i've update LAN drivers, restarted and started a game (apex legends).
After 2 min during the game (not lobby) PC freeze: 2 sec with video freeze and buzz audio and then black screen + buzz audio. I'm suspceting that ther's something wrong with the amd drivers, i have the 19.9.2 and i've done yet a clean unistall with DDU in safe mode and i've installed the latest 2 drivers 19.10.1 and 19.9.2, and then 19.7.3 and 19.2.1 but nothing changed (before any install i've done a DDU clean-up).

UPDATE 2: I've done again a clean with AMD clean utility and installed 19.10.1. This time game causes BSOD for 1 sec without freeze and shotdown the PC into a reboot loop.

UPDATE 3: I've done again a clean with DDU and installe 19.7.5 but i'm scared to try it in games.

What is the Make & Model of your PSU?

Generally when a PC shuts down by itself as though you pressed the "Off' or "Restart" button indicate either a Power issue or Overheating or Driver or software/Hardware not being compatible or defective.

What are the Temps on the CPU when it shuts down?

I have a corsair vs650 and i've done a AIDA stress test for 2 hours with 100% power and 5 fans at full speed.. zero problem.. the problem is inside the driver of the GPU.. i had this problem in the past with Assassin's creed origins and the only fix was to downgrade the driver.. maybe now, from the october windows update, ther's some incompatibility between amd driver and windows.

Here is the latest AMD Driver for the RX570: https://www.amd.com/en/support/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/radeon-rx-570

Here is the older previous AMD Drivers for the RX570: https://www.amd.com/en/support/previous-drivers/graphics/radeon-500-series/radeon-rx-500-series/rade...

Make sure your Windows OS is fully updated via Windows Update.

Have you checked those two games to see if there are any new patches to install?

Check Windows Event Viewer under "Errors" and "Critical" and check to see if it applies to any drivers or games.

Also run DXDIAG.exe and save the file. Open the saved DXDIAG file and go all the way to the bottom of the file to the last category called "DIAGNOSTICS". See what files or programs are having issues including Windows files.

Those two can help narrow down what is causing the crashing.

Window Update does cause a lot issues including the last Windows update in Sept.

I really thank you.

I've tryed yet 19.10.1, 19.9.2, 19.7.3 and 19.2.1: all of these freeze or shotdown the PC, windows is update and all drivers are update manually by me, i've also reinstalled windows and reinstalled the games and other little utility from productors (intel and asrock utility) but nothing helps. Now i've downgraded to 19.7.5 because other people on this forum with the same issue ( but with the RX 5700 ) are trying to find a driver that fix these problems and they say that the most stable is the 19.7.5.. i haven't tryed yet with games because i'm scared of these freeze.. sometimes it goes into a reboot loop and i can't broke my pc for some stupid incompatibility drivers with games.. so i'm waiting for official fix or for some sure 100% solution from other members.

I've attached my dxdia.txt

I read the "Diagnostic' part of your DXDIAG file. Most errors seems to involve with the GPU driver.

Here are some of the errors. you can google them yourself:

1- 0x1E_c0000005_R_STACKPTR_ERROR_nt! - BSOD

2- KeResumeClockTimerFromIdle - BSOD

3-LKD_0x141_Tdr:6_IMAGE_atikmpag.sys

I googled all three above errors and all indicates it could involve your GPU Driver.

The above just shows what file crashed in both of your games. Seems like most of your crashes involved BATMAN and one crash involving ForHonor.exe.

According to this Microsoft Thread concerning Kernelbase.dll with the game BATMAN is say it could be due to a Windows Update: Game Crash because of KERNELBASE.dll, version: 10.0.14393.321 - Microsoft Community

If you are using STEAM to play Batman here is an old thread from Steam Community concerning the same problem you are having: Game crashing :: Batman: Arkham Asylum GOTY Edition Allgemeine Diskussionen

Run this command in a elevated Command Prompt  SFC /scannow. This will repair any corruption in your Windows OS.

This just my opinion, but it does seem to be related to the AMD Drivers for your GPU Card.

You might want to see if there are any updates or patches for both Batman and Your Honor games.

Have you tried different settings for each game to see which prevents the least amount of crashes with the latest AMD Drivers installed?

The old Corsair VS650 is their low end and they are OK but the fans on the them are cheap and prone to failure.

I would start to be sure the PSU is not overheating.

I have all 3 of the Batman Arkham games and they all work. I am using 19.10.1 at the moment.

If drivers are a problem use DDU and try 19.10.1 again

Batman Arkham knight uses a lot of VRAM which I was testing and it was upwards of 6GB. Hope you got a powerful rig, this game is very demanding.

I've just tryed to downgrade the frequenzy of GPU at -8% with the 19.7.5 and i've done 2 hours of gamplay with for honor and batman with zero crash. I've told you, i've already done stress on this pc days ago and it gives me no problems.. i've finished batman last 2 week at 150% (new game+). PSU is not the problem with the freeze.

The 19.9.2 and 19.10.1 freeze my PC and then shot it down and boot it into a reboot loop. Games started as always but after 2-5 min they freeze.

I don't know why but 19.7.5 works perfectly with -8%. I willl do more test with less frequenzy.

MSI Afterburner can set a custom fan profile for the video card, it can also increase the power to the card too

I tend to use power pig video cards so I use very high quality power supplies

Right now I have the HX1000i and so far its held up

I'm using 19.7.5 and runs perfectly. I've done a DDU clean and then I've downgraded the drivers from 19.10.1 to 19.7.5 and this last one ne the only one stable. I've First tryed It with -8% of gpu frequency and then at full Power. Zero crash. Zero freeze. Zero shotdown. I know I have to change the psu because this is low quality but this is not the problem this time. (Sorry for a lot of "this" xD)

Okay that proves than it is the AMD Drivers causing all your errors and crashes.

I suggest you open a AMD SERVICE REQUEST (AMD SUPPORT) and let them know the problems you are having with those two games so that they become aware of the problem from here: https://www.amd.com/en/support/contact-email-form

That screenshot was done with 19.10.1

by "card drive" are you talking about the SSD in your computer?  What did you update, the Firmware of the SSD or the Sata driver?

This is good info to know as a future reference.

i changed the game from hd (5400rpm) to my ssd m2 and te problem still there, but when i updated my graphic card drive, i solved the problem

Yes. The problem is the driver itself. For me the fix was the downgrade. For you upgrade.

19.10.1 works but I use DDU to cleanup any mess made from earlier ones

I've used DDU too any time I had to install a new/old driver. I've tryed 19.9.2 twice, 19.10.1 twice, 19.7.3 once, 19.2.1 once and at the end 19.7.5 once that's the only one that gives me no problems. I've used also the AMD driver clean tool.

A recent BIOS update destabilized my rig so I had to spend time adjusting the memory etc

the defaults tend to BSOD my box before long, so I had to tweak the timings

Last time that I did a bios update was on an HP desktop, the mobo (by HP) shuts off after the update and I had to change it. I've never done a bios update after this experience. Also, the problems wasn't to update the bios, but always some corrupted driver.

I think that the problem in your PC. I have had the same issue. While I was playing GTA my PC was shutting down again and again. After that when I take it to the service center I discovered it was hard disk problem.

Does you motherboard have a M.2 slot, if so get a NVMe SSD for it

Hi! I had the same problem, after a 1909 Windows update. You can solve this accessing energy options and setup never for all boxes (if anybody has a laptop, make this only for "when plugged" box).

Hope this help you.
