My zen3 doesnt hit advertised max single core boost...

Hey guys...

Long story short, i ran prime95 months ago with air cooler. Temps went 105-117c, no shutdown. It was on 117c for like 10min till pc froze.
Also it kept running at 98c for few hours till i stopped prime95.

I use linux, and i have all throttling options off. Thats why probably didnt turn off beyond 95c.

My 5700g, doesnt hit 4.65 single core boost.
only boosts to 4450 with PBO motherboard limits, and 4525 PBO limits disabled (stock). It can only go to 4650 if i undervolt -15 curve opt.

This is not how its supposed to work. It should hit single core boost without touches, no?

I'm not sure if it hit 4.6ghz before 117c, because i never checked till now. I was manually OC back then, no auto boost.

Do u guys think my cpu is thermally damaged and needs to be Undervolted for max boost. or thats how it is with some zen3?

117°C ???

On a 5700g, i think its time to turn the heating off or get a brand new cooler.

You are way outside safe operating temperatures and risking damage.

Long story short, It won't boost because its thermally limited.

Dont disable BD PROCHOT if you did.

Good luck
