My 9950x3d is 97 degrees celcius when gaming

Is this a problem?

I am talking about when my rtx 5070 ti is above 90% load all the time and im pusing 200+ fps.
My cooler is the deepcool assasin IV. I decided to get an air cooler because I dont like the idea of liquid in my system. So innocent me expected to be okay if I get one of the best air coolers... But the case gets really uncomfortably hot. Im also using a montech king 95 pro with 6 fans that come with the case.

I wouldn't accept that high temperature, as it's not good for the long-term health of the CPU.  I highly recommend an AIO (with 360mm radiator if that will fit in your case).  That CPU does run hotter but an air cooler isn't doing enough in this case.

What are your system specifications and do you have a few pictures of your build?  Can you fit in an AIO?

AMD recommends a 240-280 mm liquid cooler or equivalent for the 9950X3D to ensure optimal thermal performance. This is consistent with the cooling requirements for the 7950X3D.

Hi,

Your graphics card is part of the problem, generating a lot of heat right bellow your CPU cooler, heat soaking it beyond its capabilities.

I would cap your fps to match monitor frequency, if its the case. The GPU will work less.

But all on all, I would use a 280 AIO or better on that CPU. Its not about air coolers being bad but the fact that AIOs take the CPU heat to the radiator.

Whats the case you have? And ambient temps?

Good luck
