low FPS after upgrading to the R7 9800X3D

So, I recently upgraded from a R9 7900X to a R7 9800X3D. I fresh reinstalled windows, double checked drivers and software, everything I could find to update is updated. Now for the problem, after installation and all that I mentioned above I started noticing that I would barely get 30fps on BO6 at 1080p on the minimum graphics (I would get 60+ FPS on 4k extreme graphics settings on the 7900X.) I have also noticed that the frame rate tanks hard to barely 10FPS when there's animation, like when you get gobblegum while playing zombies. I have done everything I can think of to fix the issue and can't think of anything that would cause this.

Temps are just above 80°C even during a stress test, at idle its around 30°C.

RAM has been set to 3600.

I have also played Destiny 2 at max graphics and can barely get over 50fps at idle.

It doesn't seem to have any issues while watching videos or movies.

Hey, I'm having a similar issue. I upgraded from a 7800x3d to  a 9800x3d and I actually see fewer fps in games. I tried 3 different motherboards. No change. I tried reinstalling windows multiple times. No change. My 7800x3d is simply faster and more stable. It's also way cooler. I have no idea what to do. I feel like we got bad chips lol. The reviews paint a different picture than what we are experiencing.

Windows sometimes has an issue when you upgrade CPUS with different core counts! Do a fresh install of windows, you should really do this anyway!

Have you looked for a motherboard BIOS update?  Version 2506, dated 05 November 2024 is the latest.  I would perform that update.
