Hello Everyone,
Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this. I've already put the same post in the Community Hub / Discussions on Steam for BL3, and I've reached out to 2K support.
Problem began yesterday. I can launch the game via Steam and get to the main screen where you select Play / Social / Behind The Scenes / Options /, etc, but if I try to get in-game by choosing "Play" then "Continue", it shows the loading screen for a few seconds, as if it's loading the game normally, but before I ever get in-game, it crashes to desktop.
I played this game about a week ago and it was fine. I did notice it updated before launching it yesterday, so maybe there was an issue with the update?|
Steps I've taken so far:
-Uninstalled / reinstalled via Steam
-Verified file integrity post-install, all files were good
-Tried changing resolutions (2k, 1080p, etc), as well as display mode (windowed, fullscreen, etc)
-Tried both DX 11 and DX 12 while trying various resolutions and display mode combinations
-Not receiving any errors or warnings; nothing in Event Viewer
-AMD drivers are up-to-date
-Crashes with existing and new characters
-Per the 2K support team, I downloaded and installed the latest vcredist_x86 and vcredist_x64
-Tried launching the game via the .exe in the Borderlands 3 install directory
PC Details:
-Windows 10, 22H2, OS Build 19045.5131
-i5 13600KF
-Radeon 6950XT
-32GB RAM
-Steam Version 1733265492
-BL3 Build ID 15245523, updated via Steam Dec 13, 2024 at 13:10
Not sure if this is related, but within Steam, when I click green "Play", the button turns blue with the "X STOP" message, then it turns green again as if nothing happened. I now have to click it twice in order to launch the game. This is the only game I have that does this.
Funny thing is, I don't even like this game very much...I just want to do a full playthrough again since BL4 is on the horizon. Any guidance or suggestions are appreciated!
