I recently built a PC and expiencing freezes during light tasks like watching YouTube or handling small tasks. I've tried reinstalling Windows and updating all the drivers, but the problem persists. Here are my specs: AMD Ryzen 7 7700 CPU, Zotac RTX 4070 Super GPU, 32 GB DDR5 Kingston Fury Beast RAM, MSI PRO B650M-A WIFI motherboard, DeepCool AK400 Digital cooler, and a DeepCool DQ750M-V3L Full Modular 750W 80 PLUS Gold power supply. Has anyone else faced similar issues or have suggestions on how to resolve this? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Note: when i turn on my pc EZ Debug LED CPU and DRAM light gets on for few sec then windows bootup it goes. also when my pc got freezed then it restart again that time only dram light got up and its yellow.

I remember back many years ago (DDR2 or DDR3 time frame) where failing memory would generate page faults in the system events.  You should probably check for those in the system event viewer of Windows.  The timing of those would coincide with the sudden freeze and subsequent reboot events.

Well, I recommend the PSU.  That's what I would swap out.  In my case, I can pull any component I need to test from another machine, so I would first swap out the PSU and then the memory and finally the CPU itself.  In your case, you have to burn money to get another component, right?  The CPU is the most expensive part.

Have you tried disabling the CPU IGP, either via BIOS or Device Manager?

Tell us more about disabling the IGP.  What can happen with it disabled?  Would you replace any component at this point @FunkZ ?

Some users have reported issues with both GPUs enabled, the IGP and a Discrete card. Something I would try before replacing hardware.

I've also read on Reddit that someone disabled their integrated GPU from the device manager, which stopped the random restarts or freezing issues. I tried the same with my system, but it didn't work for me. However, I haven't attempted to disable it from the BIOS yet.

I haven't experienced this issue personally so I'm only speculating, but as you found other users have reported problems when both IGP and Discrete are enabled, can only assume there's a conflict of some kind.

I've always disabled the IGP in BIOS when using a Discrete card as I did not want system memory being reserved for VRAM.

On top of that, with IGP running, you are wasting power and creating more heat for the CPU to deal with.

That is how I would do it.  It might take you a few minutes to find the settings in the BIOS, but you might be able to do a search for it within the BIOS screen.

Are you also encountering issues with light tasks, especially when they involve video and audio?

Yes, for example background music on YouTube. Besides this, I also have sometimes lags (not smoothness) when opening explorer windows, or other pop-up windows in the system. Using gpu Asus 4070. Before this I used an Intel i7 11700, I didn't see any such problems, they only appeared on the new build. Maybe PSU issue.. but think about Kingston ram troubles too

For some reason, I am not experiencing these freezing issues. I'm not sure what happened, but as far as I can recall, I updated my chipset drivers. After that, I haven't encountered this issue. So, you might want to try updating your AMD chipset drivers and disabling AMD IPG from the BIOS to see if any changes occur. also i have set my ram profile EXPO (6000).

Now using clean installation of Adrenaline 24.10.1 (after uninstalling MSI OEM motherboard chipset driver package), and updated MAG-B650-TOMAHAWK-WIFI BIOS to latest version I think it lags less often now. Ram expo profile same 6000 and disabled integrated GPU in bios. Perhaps the lags can be caused by the monitor synchronization of 144Hz (AMD FreeSync Feature)

Unfortunately, I still have a problem with microlags, I can't do anything about it. I switched to the integrated Vega graphics, the problem was present. When I disabled the integrated graphics, the problem was also present. At this stage, I excluded problems with the NVIDIA GPU. Now I plan to replace my Kingston CL40 RAM with G.Skill CL30 (despite the fact that Kingston memory is on the list of compatible ones), I read on forums that the memory controller in the processor can be picky about memory. If this does not help me, I will think about changing the processor... Unfortunately, a refund is no longer possible, the 2-week period has long expired.

Are you suggesting that the issue you're experiencing is due to the RAM? I have the same RAM, Kingston 6000MHz KF560C36BBEA-16. I've tried both RAM sticks, but I encounter the same issue with each.

The freezing issue was resolved for one and a half weeks, but then it started again with random freezes. It's really frustrating.

I know with mine I can't even disable my iGPU, when I do disable it in the bios, the system just boot loops.

This will sound completely out of left field, but I had random freezes shortly after the current iteration of my rig was built. Never happened while gaming, but if I tabbed over to hit the browser while waiting for a match, stutter, stutter, freeze. No game running was the same thing. Videos made it worse.

Culprit? Windows having fits with Adrenaline and VRR. I turned all the VRR controls off, and just opted to run the monitor at 165Hz at all times.

When I got my Bravia, same thing happened. VRR off, no more stutter, no more freeze. Make sure your monitor's VRR is off too. Remember, it has a computer brain too. If you get screen tear in a game, increase graphics settings to lower framerate. Or, lock your max framerate in Adrenaline and in the game settings if available.

That sounds like a good tip, but where would I find VRR settings in a monitor?  Are we really talking about Virtual Super Resolution (VSR)?  I can find that in the Adrenalin driver (24.9.1) but not VRR.

Nope, Variable Refresh Rate. It's in Windows settings, and there should be a menu button on the monitor itself. My 1440p Dell has a menu function, ditto with my Sony Bravia. I haven't used the Dell in a while since getting the Bravia, but when you're plugged into the fast ports on it, you can toggle VRR on and off in the settings.

ETA: You can lock your frame rate in Adrenaline, at least I was able to do so when I was still on the old 72Hz panel. I haven't had to because even in War Thunder where I can push 300fps in 4K Max settings RT OFF I get no screen tear. Everything else plays between 90-120fps.

I see nothing in Windows 11 associated with Variable Refresh Rate.  I also see nothing in the Adrenalin software either.  This might be an Nvidia setting you are talking about.

I'd have to jump back over to the laptop to check Win11, but it's in Win10. Win11 is a steaming pile of 💩 IMHO.

And this is Adrenaline 24.6.1. Nope, haven't updated yet. Yes, I keep most of the "fluffy" stuff turned off. Raster>everything else.

My problem hasn't been solved yet. What can I do? It was okay for a few weeks, but then it started again.

Did you change out the PSU?  Have you moved the memory sticks around?

I haven't changed my PSU; it was fine for a few weeks, but recently the issues started again. I tried cleaning everything and connecting all cables properly, but nothing changed. Then I stressed my CPU with Cinebench, and after a few freezes, it restarted. It also does the same thing while I'm using a browser, watching videos, or talking on Discord.

Well, that's the end of my advice.  Get a quality PSU of at least 850 Watts and swap out your Deep Cool PSU.  Here is a good deal on a 1000 Watt Be Quiet! PSU.  It's about $140 USD.

Why do you think changing the PSU could solve my problem? Is there a specific reason? I need to explain this to the builder to get a replacement.

Sometimes the computer restarts itself, or at other times, I have to restart it manually.

A faulty PSU will sometimes not regulate the voltages within specifications, and when voltages drop too low, things like CPUs, GPUs and memory can act erratically.   The brand you bought is not high-end.  Get a quality-brand PSU.

I have claimed my CPU's warranty, and with the new CPU, I haven't faced any problems; everything is working fine. My previous CPU was faulty.
