Has anyone else had issues with AMD Wraith cooler snapping it's brackets

The CPU cooler made a loud crack as the plastic part just broke away. The interesting thing is that the CPU cooler was installed in November by Novatech LTD uk as a barebones package and it was fine until last night (18/1/2020) in the evening when this bracket gave way.

There has been no modifications to the CPU cooler and motherboard so for this bit of plastic to suddenly snap is quite concerning.

I have attached an image to show the plastic bit which is broken.

Possibly a defective bracket. See if the Motherboard manufacturer or Novatech LTD will send you another one under Warranty.

If not, you can probably purchase another bracket through an Online Retailer like Amazon or Newegg.

You are right and I do reckon it's a defective bracket and because of that, I have contacted both Gigabyte and Novatech and explained the situation to them to make them aware. If there is a fault in manufacturing and the way it just suddenly happened out of nowhere then they can look into that.

Even though I did like the cooler, it was a good reason and excuse to bribe the misses for me to upgrade my cooler lol.

You were lucky that when the CPU Cooler came off the processor due to the broken bracket, The cooler didn't damage the processor by causing any pins to be bent or broken.

I replaced my ancient Stock Cooler that uses the same brackets that your motherboard uses and replaced it with a CoolerMaster Hyper-212 EVO CPU Cooler that came with its own brackets and is screwed down. But I have a FX8350 CPU and not a Ryzen.

Brackets and other hardware are easily available on eBay.
