chipset AMD Pro 695 QVL specifications

Hello,

I'm looking for the specifications of the chipset AMD Pro 695 and particularly to know which memory modules are compatible with it (Qualified Vendor List).

Actually, I was unable to find information about that chipset here or on AMD's website. It is not listed in the products, despite being used e.g. in the HP Z6 G5A workstation.

Thank your for any input.

Retail motherboard manufacturers, who do not make memory modules, must ensure their product is compatible with a wide variety of vendor memory available on the market in both JDEC and XMP/EXPO profiles.

HP makes systems, so they want to sell you HP branded memory, essentially "HP" is their qualified vendor. If you want guaranteed compatibility and HP support for your memory buy HP memory.

However the HP spec page details multiple configurations of DDR5-5600 ECC registered memory that will work in your system, as long as you stick with one of those listed configurations you should be able to select the memory manufacturer of your choice.

Crucial and Kingston are two that have a compatibility matrix on their website. Kingston for example lists the following for your HP Z6 G5 A

Crucial has something similar

A memory QVL is typically supplied by the motherboard manufacturer, or in this case the system builder.

The spec sheet on the HP Z6 G5A details compatible capacity configurations of DDR5-5600 ECC Registered Memory.

Hello,

Thank your for your message.

Yes, I have looked at the spec sheet of the HP Z6 G5A, where HP part numbers are indicated for the compatible capacity modules. However, unfortunately that does not inform about "all" the specific modules furnished by suppliers to HP (i.e., part numbers from those suppliers). When doing a Google search with HP part numbers, I could not find many dealers (who in that case actually sell compatible generic modules).

No other info on such part numbers or QVL?

Thanks.

Thank you.

That is exactly what I found about the Crucial and Kingston compatibility matrix. I was wondering if there were others or an "official" list from HP or AMD (motherboard). I'll have a look if Sk Hynix proposes something similar.

As you said, HP wants to sell the memory modules that they select, at a (extremely) premium price. But in the end HP is buying from those module manufacturers (Sk Hynix, Micron, Samsung, ...). I would agree to pay a 10-20% premium, but not 200%...
