When should i expect my Amd graphics card to work with Octane Renderer in Cinema 4D?
Solved! Go to Solution.
Seems like Octane Renderer is strictly for Nvidia GPU cards per Octane Renderer FAQ: https://home.otoy.com/render/octane-render/faqs/
It isn't a AMD issue it is a Octane software issue that it is incompatible with AMD GPU Cards.
It depends on Otoy. They are working on OpenCL support.
The same is with Redshift.
But I don't think this will happen in 2020.
Thank You

Otoy has Octane build which supports AMD GPUs on new Macbooks.
Maybe they will get support for PC GPUs next but it's not sure which one GPUs will be supported. I think GCN1 won't be.
But I think Otoy already has it Octane support on Macs for AMDs right from time, since Mac doesn't use Nvidia graphics cards. And what does GCN1 means, how can I know if my Graphics Card isn't GCN1. I own an AMD Radeon Pro Wx 4150
I don't know about Wx 4150.
HDRadeon 7xxx series are GCN1. Mine is 7870.
Alright thanks, please try to update me if there .is any news concerning octane Amd. Thank You
