Windows freeze, but the mouse could move
Hi, I just switched from Intel to AMD and am experiencing a problem where Windows freezes. The mouse still moves, and I can click to close or minimize windows, but everything else is unresponsive. I tried using the graphics reset button, but nothing worked—I have to force shutdown by holding the power button on the PC case.
Sometimes, it freezes while I'm on idle, or when I game was running and sometime when watching anime on Chrome. The anime keeps playing and can be paused, but Windows is already frozen.
# My PC Specs:
* **OS:** Windows 11 Pro 24H2
* **CPU:** Ryzen 9 9950X3D
* **RAM:** Corsair Dominator Titanium 6600MHz (32GB × 2)
* **Motherboard:** ROG STRIX X870-A GAMING WIFI
* **GPU:** iGame RTX 4090 Vulcan OC
* **PSU:** BeQuiet Dark Power Pro 12 (1500W)
* **NVMe:** Samsung 990 Evo Plus 1TB (Windows installed)
# What I’ve Already Tried:
* Disabled **Hardware-Accelerated GPU Scheduling**
* Reinstalled Windows
* Installed CPU and GPU drivers
* Disabled **C-States** in BIOS
* Set **Full Performance Mode** in Samsung Magician
* Turned off **PCI Express Link State Power Management** in Power Options
* Removed **Armory Crate**
* Ran **SFC** and **DISM** commands to repair Windows
I’ve searched for solutions on Reddit, but nothing has worked. I really need help.
There are no warnings or errors in **Event Viewer** before Windows freezes.
I already checked my RAM with MemTest86, and there were no errors.
Does anyone know what might be causing this? It's AMD driver bug?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi All,
Last time I restall windows by cloud windows installation but it have a problem,
yesterday I have reinstall windows by USB it seem the problem is gone everything is fast and no freeze anymore, core parking corectly not like my old windows.
Thank you so much.
Understand you state the memory has been tested, have you tried disabling XMP/EXPO temporarily to see if issue still occurs at SPD speed and timings?
Yes, I'm testing it right now, but it might take some time because the freezes happen randomly.
Could this be because the AMD 9950X3D chipset driver hasn't been released yet?
I believe the chipset driver 7.02 supports all 9000 series desktop processors, including the X3D chips. The release date on it was 2/25 which does predate the official 9900/9950X3D launch, but I believe this was simply a case of the drivers being available before the chips.

Thank you for your help.I already reinstalled Windows using a USB, and it seems to have fixed everything.
I tried turning EXPO off, but it still freezes. 🥲
