AMD64

Hello everyone, I'm new here and I have an important question, these days I'm planning to buy a computer and I also helped your friend in the specifications forum (great people) ..
I was given several types of offers there
AMD xp 3000 (barton) and there is something I don't understand general information on the subject I understood that 64 bit processors are better and newer for the future and
So what exactly is the difference between
AMD64 bit FX +3000 for the aforementioned processor above.. and what is better.

I have another question, even if I buy the 64-bit type, how can I use it in the best way, since as we know, no official Windows 64-bit system has been released

And will Windows XP make the most of a 64-bit port or is it now better to settle for 32-bit like everyone else because it will perform better for today's games and the aforementioned operating system.

I would appreciate an answer on this subject, thank you very much

This looks like a thread copied from a 20 year old message board.

Athlon XP processor? Windows XP? 32bit or 64bit better for games? These questions are irrelevant in 2024.

It could be that because I used a translation it came out like this. If you have the possibility to help me choose a processor for my computer, I would appreciate it...?
I am a graphic designer and Python programmer and the processor and computer are not going to be used for games but for net work.

Did you ever decide on a system?  Personally I think 64 bit processors are just a fad that will never catch on.  I upgraded my 80486 running windows 3.1 to a Pentium 90 running windows 98 and I just feel like anything more than that is a bit overkill.  I guess though, as Funkz said, if you want to run any software written in the last 20 years it might not be a bad idea... that's just not me though #Netscape4Life
