I read online that there was likely only going to be mid-priced gpus coming out in the next batch. No behemoth. Is this true? If it is, I wont be doing my upgrade with AMD...Hopefully, I am wrong. Does anyone know anything?

AMD deprioritizing flagship gaming GPUs: Jack Huynh talks new strategy against Nvidia in gaming mark...

RDNA 4 GPUs and New Ryzen X3D Processors Announced by AMD - CES 2025 - CyberPowerPC

AMD says 'the performance data out there for RDNA 4 is completely inaccurate' | PC Gamer

These articles might help.

Ryzen 7 7800X3D, ASUS ROG STRIX B650E-F GAMING WIFI, G.SKILL TRIDENT Z NEO 2x16GB DDR5 DRAM 6000MT/s CL30, AMD Radeon RX 7900 XTX, LIAN LI EDGE 1300, Corsair MP600 PRO NH 4TB

If they decide not to make high end, that would be a huge mistake. The article you provided indicated that the gpu would be comparative to a rtx 4070 ti - why would you even bother when you could pick up a 5080 or something?

Considering we don't have prices or even performance specs from AMD, I feel like it is too early to call it.

AMD has spoken out that performance metrics that have been leaked are not accurate. This leads me to believe that there are performance gains that are better than what we are seeing. This is all speculation. Until the launch and official publications of the specs, we will have to wait and see.

I feel the same way about the 50 series. I game at native 1440p and only use upscaling if the frame rate is too choppy to play any other way. If we look at the published performance charts of the 50 series, many of their numbers are calculated while using DLSS, or frame gen.

I see no value in debating what those numbers would be without enabling those features.

We won't see real numbers and metrics until these GPUs are in the hands of reviewers, and the embargos are lifted.

My take is, it is too early to call it for either side.

Another thing that we need to consider is what Intel will release, if they have a "high end" competitor.
