Memory (DDR4) for Ryzen 7 2700X
I just bought the Ryzen 7 2700X, is G.SKILL F4-2933C16D-32GFX is the best for this chipset.
G.SKILL Flare X Series 32GB (2 x 16GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 2933 (PC4 23400) Desktop Memory Model F4-2933C16D-32GFX
Gigabyte - X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING ATX AM4 Motherboard
What would you suggest otherwise.
Thanks.

you NEED faster RAM - because of the Infinity-Fabric between the CCXs - that is bound to ram-speed and it vastly impacts performance!

But the AMD Ryzen7 - 2700X handles up to 2933
The board Gigabyte - X470 AORUS ULTRA GAMING ATX handles the 2933 max at 3200
Am I not suppose to go with the weakest link, in this case, the CPU...

??? the weakest link is the RAM
because its speed is linked to bandwidth of the connection between the CCXs (which vastly improves performance)

Try to get the same memory AMD sent to reviewers. Nothing like DDR4 3400 CL16 with Ryzen. You could also get DDR3 3200 CL14 kits.

Then again, sorry for insisting but the reviews that I have found are for the old CPU, like Ryzen 7 1800x on B350 like.
Now I bought the Ryzen 7 2700X, AM4, X470
the motherboard max is 3200 and CPU 2933
Could you share the link that AMD sent to reviewers.
Also, the motherboard is Dual Channel Non-ECC Unbuffered DDR4, so is it better 2x16 or 4x8

If you cant find those or do not want to wait, get G.SKILL Flare X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3200 (PC4 25600) AMD X370 / B350 Memor...

usually AMD is a little "weak" on its MemControllers - so better go with 2x16
and Ryzen 7 2700X isnt that different from a 1800X - so RAM speeds STILL matter
btw - if you are lucky you can run the RAM i posted with 4x16GB at 3200er CL14 - depends on your luck in silicon lottery

Hello,
Would be nice if you could give us the full rig specs and provide also some pictures of your settings, with cpu-z or HWInfo.

This is what I did. And I'm still pushing it. This was a week ago. You should see the numbers when its overclocked to 3600. But ill give yall something to do yourselves. I did this with G.SKILL Sniper X Series 16GB (2 x 8GB) 288-Pin DDR4 SDRAM DDR4 3400 (PC4 27200) I am in no way, shape, or form an expert. I just used tools that were available on the net.

Hello,
Kudo, great result, thanks for sharing!
This kit should be 2x8GB single rank, some screens of TaiphoonBurner show B-die.
Seems a nice kit it works great, maybe low end binned B-die!
