When playing No Man's Sky if I accidentally hit alt-tab my screen goes black and I have to cycle power to get it back. This has also happened to me on startup both with this game and with Project Gorgon. I can pretty much expect it to happen every time in NMS if I alt-tab out, while in Project Gorgon it seems to only happen randomly on game startup.
I have a AMD 3900X, 64gb of ram, Asus 570-Pro, and the AMD 5700 XT. Its updated to the latest drivers available.
Gaming appears to be the only place this happens to me. This PC is on all the time and I watch youtube video's full-screen with no problems. The only place this new build has EVER had issues is in gaming with the black screen.
One item of note is that after cycling power the ASUS RGB Aura LED's flicker (at a high rate) until I load the Aura software to reset the colors. On the 2nd power off it comes back working (if I didn't load the color profile again after the 1st power cycle).
The other item of note is this was a new build with everything including the 5700 XT in it from the start.
what driver version?
20.2.1 released 1/30/2020, checked both website and using 'AMD radeon software tool'. It's the latest
use DDU and clean driver in safe-mode
then install driver 19.12.1 and check again!
Still random Black Screen in most games with Sapphire V64 Nitro+
Used that Bug Report Tool a lot but so far the problem still stays with all the new Driver updates
Disabled V-Sync and Enhanced Sync only using Freesync with Display Port on 144Hz 1440p Monitor
Really Disappointing that this problem got not fixed since more than 1 Year now!
p.s: Same goes for FRTC Frame Rate Target Control (Why AMD ???)
Thats normal gpu`s behaviour for now. Drivers are broken, a lot of rx 5700 xt owners waiting a patch.
Lovely.... Really wanted this build to be all AMD, but looks like if I want to play NMS I'll have to order a 2070ti
how do you have your monitor connected?
Display port to Philips 4k monitor
Philips 328E1CA 32" Curved Monitor, 4K UHD, 120% sRGB, Adaptive-Sync, Speakers, Vesa
I had to uninstall the amd software package, restart my pc, turn off all my antivirus and firewall protection, then reinstall the software using google chrome browser and not Microsoft edge. That did it for me. So far so good!
Do you have your motherboard chipset drivers updated to the latest version also.
Only thing that wasn't updated was "AddressableHeader" which I just updated
Try Adrenalin 20-2-2 lots of fixes: https://www.amd.com/en/support/kb/release-notes/rn-rad-win-20-2-2
