Will try anew after playing it for the last time in March, not very far in the story mind you, not at all. Game is so beautiful i don't even care. I wasn't really paying attention the first time, because i was too busy hating on it. It would look better on a larger, wider screen, with raytracing.
Been playing Nioh and Dark Souls 3 (2nd run). Played a little bit of ER earlier tonight, but switched back to DS3. Last time i played DS3 was at launch date, so i mean, a lot has changed since then. Been learning quite a lot. The thing about video games that you hate, but are good, is that you probably suck at them.
DS3 is most definitely good practice for Elden Ring. For the record i have played DS1 and DS2 twice, both with DLC. Elden Ring simply had failed to meet my expectations, and being the time sink that it is i decided to uninstall it so i could continue to devour game after game, but now that i am getting desperate, it's a welcome addition. xD

I used rivers of blood, 10+. I think 34 dexterity, 50 arcane. A bunch of faith incantations, the mixed flask, mimic and luck. You got to keep on trying. As for the Dragonlord Placidusax the Lion Bow 10+ plus Radahns Spears will suffice. Same for the final boss (2nd phase).

I did everything offline. Actually never spent a rune arc, even though i activated all the great runes. Misused one remembrance on the mausoleums. Still upset about it... Anyways. I will retry Shadow of the Erdtree tomorrow. The blasphemous blade is way too cool to give up so soon.
Funny fact, i died at the same time as the final boss, but it was felled. The lost runes were there on the floor next to the grace when i respawned. Such a relief. A win is a win. xD

The ultimate way of tackling this DLC. Dual wielding these two greatswords. Remember you can always switch between them and their skills. Introducing the shield and incantations whenever. Not to mention the bow.
I use the long bow because i can use the rain of arrows. I don't know of any other bow that let's you do this, which is as good, or with better range. I do have the Erdtree bow, along with the Crespus Black Key crossbow and the Lion Greatbow.
Shadow of the Erdtree is like the last man/ woman on earth, or the last thing in the fridge. It suddenly looks a lot better now, but to give it a 10, is just outrageous. I don't even know of any DLC that got a 10. Ludicrous. 7 would be harsh, 9 would be biased, 8 is just right. Still needs a lot of spirit tuning though in order to justify that 8 and a 40 dollar purchase.
Update 2:
Had to uninstall. Difficulty wise is not that hard if you come prepared. I defeated the Lion and Rennala with relative ease, but this DLC is definitely going to upset a lot of people, for a million different reasons. It's like this is the bad stuff that was leftover during development and they choose to repackage and resell it as a DLC.
The simple fact why the game offers you these damage (deal/ negation) bonuses spread throughout the realm should serve as a red flag. For 40 dollars they'd better work on it 24/7 for years, but i bet this is not the case. Probably using the money for the next development.
The framedrops are serious on my rig. Played the entire main game on max settings, only two small areas, during two brief moments had framedrops, on two singular occasions. On shadow of the Erdtree this happens very frequently. It's absurd, you see the GPU is not even being fully utilized, so it's likely due to a bottleneck, lack of optimization, etc.
The worst thing is Nioh is looking like trash now, by comparison... xD I am royally screwed, pardon my French.

Only listened to heavy metal since early 2021. No other genre whatsoever. Apart from the classical, jazz and other erudite stuff i listen on my bedroom radio. 1783 liked videos on my YouTube channel, work related stuff. I haven't updated that in a long while. Not sure how to share all that. Still, just follow the classics. I'm very fond of thrash, speed, power metal.

Anyways i had to reinstall because i have that Elden fever. Updated to latest version. I'm still using 24.5.1. Could try updating to 24.6.1, although i had some issues with this driver and would rather wait. I wanted to hold this DLC for one or two months until everyone sorts their part in this mess, but i just got that fever real bad. Who'd knew.

I do love me some Dio, for sure. About to face the promised consort Radahn. Actually i did tried facing him once, alone. Was trashed before triggering the second phase. I do have Thiollier and Sir Ansbach.
Now i will likely need a customized build/ strategy in order to face him. That's just my standard pve build. Still level 17 on the scardutree fragments. Damm i was hoping this would be an easy boss, just so i could put down this game once and for all... Performance wise, most issues are fixed and you can play the whole game without hitches. However, my rating remains an 8, and that's being nice.
Time to get psyched up!

I died at the same time as Bayle using Igon and the Lion Greatbow. Still haven't used any arc rune. I might be needing all those against Radahn. Have close to 70 or whatever. xD

The ultimate way of cheesing this fight.
Bleed + Scarlet Rot. You can stab him continuously even while guarding and taking no damage from his physical attacks. I haven't defeated him yet, but it's pretty easy depleting almost all of his health. Biggest problem is the jumping attack when he disappears and then kaboom! Even died at the same time, but that didn't worked. Well, it wasn't at the same time, my spirit summon killed him like 3 seconds after...
I haven't used all the tricks or consumables. No Rune Arc either. I'm positive i will defeat him with relative ease. Just need to go for a cig and a pee pee. Anyways, this is a good way of cheesing this fight. The attribute spreading could be optimized. I don't need the extra equip load, for example. Just enough to stay medium. The summons can potentially make this fight considerably harder, so it's just best if you go alone

I remain a non smoker BTW. Just a pack of Marlboros I bought. Hadn't smoked since November. Just to mitigate some of the daily stress. Don't smoke people, it doesn't do you any good.
